Buck up, Dave. You can always claim the drop in demand is from the poor people that can't afford it, because only the rich can afford gas now.
Dude, you're slackin'.

So never fear Dave. I'm sure as things get back up and running and consumption gets back to normal levels gas will once again begin climbing toward that $20/gallon level you've been fantasizing over.
Keep the faith!

The basic fact that we get no oil from Iran and only a little, if any, from Russia makes a big difference on how wrong your topic is.

I've been wanting us to invade Canada for some time. Should be much easier than Iraq. The only issue then is how to deal with the "Canadian problem"...Originally posted by: DarkKnight69
Well, canada still has an assload of oil, maybe we are hiding WMD's too and you can invade us for it!!!
Gas here has dropped $0.35/gallon since the liberal tinfoilers claimed that Bush sent Katrina into NO to raise the profits for the oil companies.

Probably hiding in his sofa fort.
Gas prices continue to fall, despite liberals claiming they are at an all time high and were manipulated by Republican's to make more people poor.
Now that doesn't make sense. Poor people vote democrat. hmmm... looks like yet another hole in the DNC ship they named Colander.

Explain how Exxon Mobil made record 75% profit and $100 Billion dollars then

They didn't make a record 75% profit. They made a 10% profit. I see you can't read. Looks like your tin foil hat is covering your eyes again.
Explain how gas prices continue to fall despite the fact that you are wrong... okay, that's easy:
On the way to work today I noticed prices were lower than yesterday and lower then they have been in the prior weeks. This skill requires reading numbers, something you're clearly not good at, and making a correlation to prior day and week price history, another thing you obviously can't do.
As far as your claims, well that's simply because you are one of the uneducated masses that blindly follow what the DNC controlled liberal media tells them to believe.
Looks like Colander needs to head back out to sea for awhile.

The 75% is being shown as "profit" on CNN's Money website....though it seems like that link it getting hammered or something now.
The profit was *up* 75% from the previous year - not 75% of their income was profit. While Exxon's quarterly profit was up 75 percent from a year earlier, and revenue rose 32 percent to more than $100 billion, the results fell short of Wall Street forecasts due to production outages caused by the hurricanes and sharply lower profit at the company's chemicals division.
