Ruined what, exactly? The "fun" and deep accomplishment of several posters using Google to copy the supposedly right answer?

In a post entitled, "OK ATOT brainiacs", I was the only poster with an original answer, and the only one with a correct one.

What is a word made up of 4 letters yet is also made up of 3. Although is written with 8 letters, and then with 4. Rarely consists of 6, and never written with 5.

if you put either a a period or a semicolon between "letters" and "yet" to make the sentence become grammatically correct, the riddle becomes very obvious.

i figured it out once i got to "although is written with 8 letters..."
