ok.. I've now run into all kinds of problems!!!! HELP!!!

OK guys.. i just moved to 2k.. and am having several problems..

First i have problems going into standy..it goes and sometimes doesn't come out..

second my monitor is now Shifting 3-4 times very quickly about 1once every ten minutes...

Next, when i go into standby, the system will come out.. but the monitor won't.. i get a dead blank screen.. but the letters are green.. indicatiing there is power to the monitor.. right now the monitor is working ok.. but i dont know what is going on and i need some help!!!... i need lots.. !!!!

What could be wrong here.. the NEC tech line is useless to me.. considering all theyt tell me to do is tighted the wires..!! that helps!?!

try hooking up a different monitor first, and if the problems persist then its something with your system. otherwise, it could be just a problem with the monitor.

Win 2k has show itself to be a bit picker when it comes to APCI compliance than Win 9X/Me. Any older, or off brand parts might be your cause.

I sometimes have this problem if I use a 3d screensaver (OpenGL). I'm sure there is a fix for it but it is easier for me to use a screensaver that doesn't use my cpu anyway.

well,, thanks for all your replies..

I called NEC and told them..they said the monitor is defective and it can be sent back..

I just tested standby again.. and the system comes out but the monitor doesn't.. it just stays black!!!..

and when i turned it on.. hear a slight high pitched noise then it went away..and now it "jukes back and forth about every 5-10 minutes!!!!!!..

so i will call tomorrow and get an RMA number.. anyone else having problems like these???.. this is my problem!! (at least i hope) and it is not my MX because.. i had this same monitor before and it broke about 2 months ago.. at least the customer service is good !

welcome to Win2k....who have now entered driver nightmare part I....your going to find out exactley what every peice of hardware you have to to websites and download drivers one after the other......best of luck to ya.....

Guys, once you get the drivers right.. it runs sweet though doesn't it!?!
