bricks were being shat because I don't have a license.

So because you're an unlicensed asshole... the COP is in the wrong?

Damn. Wish he pulled you over... then we wouldn't be wasting our time on this lame rant... as you'd be in jail.

Again, they MUST have a reason for scrutinizing you. And he couldn't possibly have known I don't have a license. Pay attention.

It wouldn't matter if I had a license. I would still be uncomfortable or unnerved when he had zero reason to be scrutinizing me like that. In fact, I've had this happen before when I DID have a license, and still felt the same way.

um. no he doesnt?

Then you must drive "guilty"

i get cops following me all the time. comes with the hours i work. cops seem to think people on the road at 2am must be: drunk or up to no good. My driving record is clean ... my insurance is clean... my car is clean. I don't feel uncomfortable... i just laugh at them wasting their time.

Have a not guilty attitude... and you won't feel like you're doing something illegal (which.. if you're driving unlicensed... you are).

Umm, in Soviet Russia, no. In America, yes he does. Citations and charges have been tossed out when it was shown the officer had no probable cause or particularized reason to scrutinize the person. "He was driving a car" is not probable cause.

how about:

he was driving a car we had a recent APB on. ( you have no clue if they do or dont... so dont say he had NO reason)

he didn't slow down when passing a stopped emergency vehicle.

just because YOU don't think you did anything wrong... doesn't mean you didnt.

Its called BOLO. I was on the OPPOSITE side of the big rig from him, he couldn't have seen me.

he didn't slow down when passing a stopped emergency vehicle.
We're not required to when they're off on the shoulder and there is no road hazzard, and neither did the big rig who was NEAREST to him. I was actually driving a tad slower than the big rig as we passed him, and let's not forget I was the one who changed lanes to let the big rig over (in order for him to give the cop on the shoulder more space).

Try again?

I'm just saying. It was nerve-wracking. He WAS scrutinizing me and didn't have any particularized reason to.

Can't do it, love the responses from those who would be crying foul louder than me if the same thing happened to them.

Try reading the response... this happens to me at least once a week..

11:30pm != 2:00am along a bar back-road circuit! Everybody goes to bars North of the aforementioned exit, I was coming from the South.

So the story gets more interesting.

You were around a known bar circuit.

There is your probable cause. Possible drunk driver. And dont give me some bullshit "it was only 11:30pm" ... people get drunk at 11:30pm yanno.

Leave out any more information?

The officer could have had any number of reasons to investigate further. He did so without even the hassle of pulling you over. In addition, you were driving without a license...... and you are mad about the cop? Sheesh. You're lucky he didn't feel like hassling you, sounds like he's was doing his job.

WTH?? The favored bar circuit is the opposite direction from where I was coming from, moron. And I already said it was approx. 11:30pm in the OP.

admit you were wrong and move on
Yes, the State should give me a driver's license already. No question there. I shouldn't be driving, the world should be better than it is, and cops shouldn't be making outwardly good drivers shat brickz just cuz its Sunday...or whatever reason gives them an erection.

god i hate traffic cops. i had a similar thing happen to me over the weekend. a cop followed my car for 2 blocks looking for something to pull me over for. finally he turned his lights on because he said he saw the light from my cell phone. i was on the way to the airport too so i really didnt have time to sit on the side of the road for 10 minutes. i didnt get a ticket but still it wasted my time while he ran my plates and license. so theyre laying off teachers, cutting services and raising taxes everywhere while there are cops making $550,000 a year in the bay area doing this to people?????????????

meanwhile there are cops doing this:

they should bury these bastards up their necks and let junkies throw rocks at their heads

If you're such a good driver why'd you lose your license?

Automatically pulled for medical reasons. When a doctor diagnoses or treats you in my state for certain medical conditions (e.g. that can result in loss of consciousness or altered mental status), he is legally obligated to report the diagnosis or status to the DMV. I'm in the process of obtaining medical clearance buts its a long fucked-up process.
