Ok so apache decided to be retarded

Ok was getting near the end of setting up oscommerce, a bunch of php crap and whatnot. Wanted to test phpmyadmin, and so now everytime i go to http://localhost http://www.lizardconspiracy.net or on my network go to http://192.168.1.102 it says "You do not have permission to access "X" . X represents anything on my server. I dont know what hapened. I wasnt even in the apache folder, it just did it on its own!?! Can anyone help, im sure its probably pretty simple, but im LOST

tail out the httpd error logs -- tail /var/log/httpd/error_log or tail /usr/local/apache/log/error_log

depending on how you installed apache.

yea i've got no apache/windows experience, but here's a wack.

Is the exact error message 403 Forbidden or 401 Unauthorized Access? or something else?

Check two things
1.) for any .htaccess files anywhere in you docroot that the php program might have included
2.) make sure all the files are readable for the account apache runs as. (usualy people just set it world-readable)


The only other thing i can think of is if the package you installed is using php's built in http authentication support. In that case, try reading this. http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.http-auth.php
