width: 0px !important;
height: 0px !important;
}
But keep in mind it may make other parts of fusetalk look funky. Haven't exactly tested it much yet.
LOL, it appears your user rating is 60.73 out of 10. That's about right, though, thanks for the code!

Looks like they changed it so the CSS doesn't work any more. Guess I'll have to do some hacking myself. :frown:

For those of you who didnt understand why we had to move the banner.
Google no longer pays for banners that are "below the fold". This just means they do not give us any credit for banners that can be seen only by scrolling down. Unfortunately, this is a HUGE problem. The forums and site cost an extrodinary amount of money to maintain, and we have to take action in order to pay for bandwidth.
Thanks for everyone who understands, as you all know there are stressful times upon everyone.

You guys seem to be a victim of your own success. I guess then it would be a good thing to move to other forums so you guys can afford to keep this site going. Less members, less expenses. I for one will do my part and move on just so you guys can continue on with this really nice place on the internet. I subscribed for a year the first time the servers mysteriously slowed down. Then I was promised a bunch of extras that never happened, so I did not want to renew until those promises were kept but kept coming here due to the knowledge of the membership. I'm still waiting for those extras. And now this kind of advertising. Next there will be ads right in the middle of your articles on the main page just like Yahoo does. Where will it stop? It won't. It's always the almighty buck that rules the roost in the end, even to the detriment of the original idea that made this site, which I think was the disbursement of computer knowledge, not advertising.
I don't see how anything could be done through CSS. Perhaps an experienced proxomitron user could come up with something, but then that doesn't help the Linux people, and not many Windows people use the prox, either.Originally posted by: CyberZenn

Already gone The Proxomitron route, the ad is gone but there's some annoying whitespace at the top of the document. *shrugs* I'll hit that after my exam tomorrow.Originally posted by: jliechty

What do you mean very well said? It's a bunch of whining. Unlike most forums you probably know, this site actually has a server farm and a staff. And just because there are ads to the left now, doesn't mean they're going to start adding more... slippery slope fallacy anybody? These aren't NEW ads, google just stopped paying for ads that require scrolling to get to (which is also the reason why i doubt they're going to move them to the right... they won't get paid if users will need to scroll to see them). When it comes to banner ads, certain locations are worth more than others... that's common knowledge for anybody that has ever tried getting banner ads.

And I gave a rebuttal to everything you said earlier.
You are just whining now....if you don't agree that this is a problem then why are you in the thread?

You didn't rebut anything. You're just regurgitating the same thing over and over again, and it doesn't make a difference. I doubt they're going to put it to the right, because people will need to scroll to the right as well, so google probably wouldn't pay. The top already has ads, so i doubt they're going to add more up there. And of course they can't add it to the bottom, because google isn't paying for that.
It's simple... if you really like this site, and you have principle, which is what you guys are always claiming, then subscribe whether there are benefits are not. Now THAT'S called principle. Whining about something that is already free is not.

Where did I MENTION PRINCIPLE? Subscribing OFFERS ME NOOOOTTTTHHHHINGGG. Can you get that? I am not going to give my hard earned money because Anandtech did something stupid with ads that alienate the people that bring them that money.

They wouldn't need to scroll to the right any more than they do right now.
