Ok, what could it be?

Ok, so I keep going through this is my head....

Turn off PC one night, everything is fine.
Turn on PC next day Windows doesn't load says that there is a corrupt file in the OS
Restart PC and put in my XP Pro disc, try to repair doesn't work
Restart PC delete partition, remake partition, format and start Windows Setup...Setup freezes
Restart PC again, get to Setup and it just powers off
Try to restart PC again but PC doesn't start up, nothing starts up, fans and all...

I ordered a new PSU and it came and last night I installed everything, did some wiring work and all but now it won't boot, I believe it's the video card but if anything comes to mind on something to try that would be great. Just worried that when my old PSU died it took out a few other things as well.

- Check to make sure your CPU isn't overheating, make sure thermal pad or arctic silver is applied correctly
- Try using your PSU on another computer
- Try using your video card on another computer

Reset my CPU twice, reseated the video card and RAM more times then I would have liked.

No other PSU in my house uses the same type of video card and PSU, have another video card on it's way here for testing purposes.

I have the Abit A8N-SLI Premium, getting two beeps at power up, my memory has the LED lights on the top and those seem normal, just my screen stays blank.

Also, did you overclock?

Didn't overclock at all my new PSU is an Enermax Liberty 500W

Is this what the file used to say?

If so, its happend to many people it can be caused by a hardware problem drives or ram which was the case for me. However this also happends for no reason sometimes when a PC is fine.

Run the HD diagnostic for your drive (WDDIAG, Seatools, etc.) to check for weak read/write areas on the disk.

Great suggestions, but right now once I power on I keep getting a blank/black screen.

the HDD diag runs off booted floppy (or CD), set bios to boot from it, dont need XP
run memtest86+ - also runs off booted floppy
I always note on these sudden no boots to check for bulged capacitors
(you didnt mention any HW specs)

2x80GB Seagate Baraccuda
Enermax Liberty 500W
Plextor DVD+-RW

Nothing is OC'd at all. Before my Enermax came in I had a TT 420W PSU, it died a day before my new PSU came in. Before my old PSU died everything was working fine. See the orignal post to get the details after I got my first power restart.
