oh good god. Best doughnuts ever. I first had them in Miami like 12 years ago, then they finally opened a couple in the L.A. area. There's one on campus at UCLA, but they are trucked in from the store in Van Nuys, they're still damn good.
"pretty soon you realize that you are paying 20% more for 50% less donut. "
WTF is wrong with you? These donuts are the best! Do you mean to say that they are filled with air? From your comment I get that you are anti KK? Do you own a competing store? IMHO they are worth everything!
Krispy Kreme rules... too bad they shut down the one by Crossroads in Cary NC... those glazed originals rock when you get them fresh... literally melt in your mouth
If you ever want a good laugh you should hear what my grandmother calls them "Crispy Creamies!"
Me and my Dad almost died laughing when she saw them thru a store window and got all excited and said to my Dad "I hope your father is smart enough to get some crispy creamies, they're delicious!"
(goes back to eating his Tim Horton's sour cream glazed.... MMMMmmmmmmmmm Then takes a big bite out of a Zehrs Bakery Giant Apple Fritter.... MMMMMMmmmmmmmmm)
They finally built one here in New Orleans. I forsee it lasting about, oh, 6 months. This is beignet country, baby! Nothing can compete with Cafe du Monde.
My wife didn't believe me when I returned from Atlanta with tales of the best doughnuts I ever tasted.. until we went to florida and we actually found a KK with the light on... now..she know..she knows....
The closest KK to me is the Union City one in SF )but I guess they will get closer when Portland opens). KK will not be in my part of Canada till 2002/2003. Oh well......... back to the Tim Hortons
