Ok whats wrong with my computer >:(

I am getting such a low score on every test 3dmark there is. 8k on 2001 3k on 2005

I know this is not natural!!!!

Here is my specs

CPU-----------------------------------------------2400 amd xp clock at 2000 (can i overclock this thing?)
motherboard-------------------------------------Cheap 4 year old mother board that is 133 front memory
Memory-------------------------------------------2x512 corsier value ram (new)
hard drive----------------------------------------100 gig
sound card---------------------------------------Audigy 2zs
Speakers-----------------------------------------560 Logitech
Case----------------------------------------------Cheap 35 dollar Raidmax case powersupply 350 watt
Video Card---------------------------------------6800 LE 256mb EvGa Nvidia (325 1100)
monitor-------------------------------------------Cheap Mag innovation 17inch CRT monitor

Please help me figure whats wrong. I am getting such low scores and feel like being used.

Have you compared them on the futuremark site to see what other people with your specs are getting?

3K on 05 is nothing to scoff at. Dont worry about benchmarks. If you are getting the performance you want in the games you lay, your system is fine. You didnt buy it for a 3dmark score did you?

So you can't play your benchmarks that fast? Some people play games on their computers. Why don't you see how those run.

Seriously. It gets kind of old. I'm new to the forums and seeing the same people post the 'Oh your X or Y problem is because you don't have Z brand computer' is making my time here less fun. A machine is a machine. Companies are different - but they have the same goal - to make $$. That's pretty much the only thing that separates brands. They both use similiar/same technology on a broader definition.

As far as your problem goes Warzero - you say the mb is 4 years old or so? Have you looked up information on the mobo through the developer's web site, online articles, etc to see if there's any problems or conflictions with that motherboard and your added products? i only say this because you said some components are new but the board is quite old. Maybe that might offer some leads..

maybe you will have a big problem if you have SDR ram, but it shouldnt support that CPU

Your CPU, mobo and vid card are weaker than the latest and greatest but those scores don't seem entirely off the wall for the hardware you have. Remember that card only has 12 pipes right?

aslo , and I almost forgot, have you checked for spyware/adware? its been 3 months since I last cleaned mine and it was @#$%ed up again and I don't even visit questionable sites usually. Just cleaned it tonight.

At max that motherboard has AGP 4x, and also you're using an old chip which, both are going to lower your benchmark score.
Also how long ago since a defrag?

Try to rip out the sound card or at least unloading its driver.

Quite often soundcards permanently occupy major parts of the PCI bus bandwidth.

If scores improve you know what to do.
