Okay, serious Q: Windwaker HD vs original

I think its a good idea, but you should know what you are getting into.

The strongest titles on Wii U are first or second party. The Wii U is also great for local couch co-op with a spouse/girlfriend/family/friends.

Notable games out now:
New Super Mario Bros/New Super Luigi (4 player 2d mario co-op)
Pikmin 3 (extra co-op challenge missions)
Windwaker HD (which would come with the bundle)

Near future:
Super Mario 3D World (4 player 3d mario co-op)
Donkey Kong country Returns (2 player 2d co-op)
Mario Kart 8

Late 2014:
Super Smash Bros U
Bayonetta 2

More niche titles:
Wonderful 101
Rayman
Lots of eshop titles
Some 3rd party titles that may be better on other consoles

It's pathetic how big of a fan I am.

That being said, I hated Windwaker on gamecube. I am considering getting the remake on the Wii U though. I keep hearing to many good things about it.

For trajectory my top 5 Zelda list is.

These first three are miles above the following two.

I think zelda 1 and 2 are neck and neck. I absolutely love the castle music in zelda 2 - link

Gamecube is getting lots of love from me lately. Starting up Tales of Symphonia before the remake hits, then following up with Baten Kaitos Origins.

Doesn't matter, its all horrible.

This game is worst of all the zeldas. I played it for too long and then put it down. Having to play a different melody all the damn time was just a time sink and a huge huge letdown. I don't see how anyone could finish this game as you just lose the will to play it it is that tedious. There is just no redeeming quality in this game to want to ever play it again.

I LOVED this game. Sailing on the sea was so enjoyable. I enjoyed this feel SO much. Funny how you think it's horrible but ok.

Orarina of time sucked? well everyone has a right to their opinion but I'd label that as one of the best games of all time. I enjoyed majora's mask as well.

Wind waker... random exploration took too long... sailing around the water only to find your path blocked.. having to get one item, then spend all this time sailing around to get whatever upgrade... better off not exploring and just playing the storyline straight through which is not something I do with adventure rpg games. I did like it though, just not as much as others in the series. Twilight princess was way too easy.. enemies should have done 4x the damage. Even the hardest dungeon in the game, that one in the desert, was doable in the first try.. once I beat that I stopped playing and never beat the game.

I just liked the exploration of WW better.
The act of sailing was a lot more fun than Ocarina's walking around or riding on Epona. I think that's why I enjoyed WW so much.

Okay.

I've never finished a Zelda game. (/puts on flamesuit.) I've never much cared for them. No one could convince me to play them - Even though I have vivid memories of my roommate in college playing "A Link to the Past" on the living room couch in his underwear.

I've needed a walkthrough for a few parts...but:

WindWaker is quite possibly one of the best games I've ever played in my life. Some of these 3-Dimensional puzzles rival Portal. There might not be the strict physics behind it or hardcore science, but there's a certain "heart" behind the tasks; I'm not sure how to explain it.

True 1080p with Cel-shaded graphics is just icing on the cake.

But as he said, if any of these don't get you excited, skip it. But really the Wii U seems to be the way to go for couch co-op, especially with the family.
