I know these aren't to some peoples tastes, but they are made to (hopefully) bring a bit of fun
The DC forum is about Distributed Computing, I know that, but when someone wants to say something to their fellow TeAmmates, what do you do??
Post an OT topic.
I realise, that is not what the majority of the members of this forum are here for, they want news etc of what their project is doing, but I (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) like to try and bring a bit of light relief now and again.
I think a stickied OT topic would go down quite well, anyone wants to read it, they read it, if they don't, they don't

I'm glad you don't let the lack of a "place" stop you Andy! I enjoy your diversions and think it would be great if more people felt free to ..... be people here!

I prefer the fun peppered through out the forum. It's like finding an easter egg!

I think herding all the fun to a single spot might leave the remainder of the forum dry as a bone.

either way.... Have a little fun here. I'll cuss out the fun pollice for ya if they can't take a joke.

Maybe it would make sense for each project to have a sticky so the stats and project news would always be at the top where people could find it quickly and easily when they just need a fast fix and the remainder of the DC forum could be "OT" (pronounced: Human interraction and fun)

Do you really want close to 20 sticky threads at the top of the forums? Granted not all the projects posts daily stats so maybe it wouldn't be that many but...


I'd just rather not have a stickied OT thread. If some one wants to post something OT go right ahead. I think that as long as there aren't too many going at the same time there wouldn't be a problem(from the Mods perspective).

Right now there are 4 threads that start with OT & this one makes 5 on the front page alone. They're all about different things. I think some of it would be lost if it was all in the same thread.
