Before computers, back in the early (80 -83) eighties, I was an audiophile. A company called hafler marketed power amp and preamp kits. Over a period of 24 hours I built a hafler DH - 200 amp and a DH - 101 preamp. Built a system with a Yamaha PF -800 turntable, a Yamaha T-300 Am-FM tuner and Kef 103.2 speakers. I changed cartridges a few times over the years and right now the turntable carries a 4 - 5 year old Grado midrange price cartridge whose model number escapes me. I have "spares" in a Grado G1 cartridge, a Sumito "Pearl", an Osawa MP-50 and a Garrott P-77 cartridges. Don't ask how many vintage 33 1/3 vinyls I have.
About a year ago the Amp went south on me a second time. The push switches on the preamp began sticking after cleaning them up a second time. I said to my self one of these days I'll break out my old soldering iron if I can find it and try to get everything working again. I haven't.
So, the amp and preamp will go to good will. Is there any value for resale for the rest of the equipment??? or should I just give the kit an kaboodle to Good Will? Every thing works except the amp and preamp.
Go easy on me folks, I'm looking at having 78 wonderful years come June.
