This game is one of the main reasons I built meself a new PC.

Can't wait! I'm sure Levine and co. will deliver.

They're the same as S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but yeah, that's really high.

It's high but it's an average rig for enthusiasts. Most gamers in these boards have a better machine than that. Dual Core, 2GB of RAM and a 7900GT or better...that was high end a year ago. This is Unreal 3 we are talking about so it doesn't seem too bad.

And for those with slower machines not willing to upgrade...there's always the Xbox 360 version.

Anyway...I'm really, really looking forward to this game.

I'm not to excited about this game for some reason, but don't get me wrong, it looks like a great game. I'm just waiting patiently for Crysis, I'll have an 8800GTS for that game though.

The engine is a improved Tribal Vengeance engine, no ? Later on Unreal Engine 3 somehow got incorporated or something like that. I think the game won't be a systemkiller like Crysis and Stalker. The atmosphere they create with it is awesome though.

Well, according to Levine, they've had a team devoted to the PC version for the last few months which is responsible for optimizing it and making sure the interface is ideal for a mouse+KB configuration. He says the game will blow any other multiplataform game out of the water in terms of how well it runs and plays

This gives me hope.

Yes...well, I believe they were using the SWAT4 enginge, but in the end, that's a modified version of the Vengance engine, which in turn is Unreal 2.5.

Or something like that. I just want the damn game to come out already!

I was just checking out Gamespy's E3 coverage. What surprised me is that all the editors there are a lot more excited about BioShock (and Fallout 3) than Crysis.

Just my opinion but it would seem from all the information we have that there will be a lot more depth to BioShock and particularly FO3 than there will be in Crysis.

Of course, this could be a function of the graphics being so highly touted that gameplay details are being put on the backburner(by reviewers).

Recommended System Requirements:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo processor

System RAM: 2GB

Video card:
DX9: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT or better)
DX10: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or better
8600 is one weak-ass DX10 card

if that is "recommended", a GTX will get full details
[doubtful]
-i wouldn't go by the "min-recommended"

You ain't kidding. Between those 3 and then Timeshift, Alan Wake, HL2:Episode 2, Call of Duty 4, and now Gears of War & FarCry 2, it's gonna be an expensive few months...

i'm guessing those are recommended specs, since most midrange cards are still 256mb of ram, not 512.

I wonder if they wrote that game for OpenAL or if that EAX is still going through DirectSound?

It has to be OpenAL for Vista.

No way those are requirements. At best, only about 50% of "serious" PC gamers have a C2D, let alone a 512Mb video card.
