Old Parts, New Case

I transfer my old parts from an old case into a new one so I can sell it on Ebay.. and for some reason everything works but the Floppy, Everytime I put in my bootdisk or any floppy disk it will either not read anything or give me an error like I/O Disk Error. I tried switching the IDE Cables but then My computers Monitor will show nothing and the power button would turn the computer on but not off... Any Ideas? Thanks

Maybe the floppy's ribbon cable is plugged in upside down? If its LED light stays lit all the time, that's the problem, and you can just shut down, flip the ribbon cable's plug over, and plug it back in.

Yeah I came across that problem, When the LED light is on all the time, it doesn't even read a disk, when I flipped it, and now every time I put in a disk it says I/O Disk Error

Are any of the pins on the drive missing or bent?

Nope, only the 1 pin thats always missing in Floppys

Have you made sure that the floppy cable is attached not only in the right direction (end to end) but that each connector is its right way up?

How many connectors are on the floppy cable? I couldn't get my floppy to work unless I connected it to the very last connector, or maybe the cable is bad.

Check to be sure the case isn't preventing the floppy from fully inserting.

When you installed the floppy make sure you didnt over tighten the screws and try blowing out the inside of the drive with compressed air.

I switched IDE Cables, I took out the screws and put them back in, Switched Cases.. Nothing Worked

Floppy drive might just be bad now. Try another one in the same spot and see what happens.

Make sure the end of the cable with the twisted ribbon is connected to the floppy. An LED on at all times means the cable is connected incorrectly.

I agree I bet the floppy has just gone bad
