Hello, my parents have like 15 pics they wanted to restore but wolf camera wants 50 bucks a pic. Is there any software out there that can do a half decent job for a lot less?
Photoshop would be the software but depending on the condition of the originals, it could be a huge job. It takes a lot of skill to get great results. It is a time consuming task.
As said it takes a lot of time to restore photographs. It can take hours just to clean up new photographs. You are not going to find a software application that can do it for you. If they are terribly damaged or very old, low quality prints then even a pro may not be able to do much.
^^ (points to the Digital and Video Cameras forum.) Post some examples up there and we'll give it a shot. We might even do it for free if you ask nicely.
As egale and Modelworks said, the results will really depend on the condition of the photographs and how much time, skill, and effort is put into the project.

I thought about posting there but its more for cameras then pictures.
The Pictures are really old and colors are washed out. It seems like it would be alot of work indeed. I just though there was some software that I could give it a shot. ill scan the worst pic in and see what you guys think later. I bet its long gone lol.

We frequently discuss photography and processing techniques as well as camera hardware in the Cameras forum. We have even had a few threads where we each post pictures and have everyone else process them to see what kind of results we get.
So please, feel free to post your photos there if you want us to "play" with them. Or just post them here and I'll point some people in this direction.
