Emanuel 'Manny' Yarbrough, (born September 5, 1960) is an African-American amateur Sumo wrestler and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competitor, also having competed in judo, wrestling, and American football. He is 6 ft 8 in (2.03 metres) tall and has weighed between 600 and 822 lb (272 and 372 kg) throughout his career.

HOLY F'IN SHIT!!!

I actually felt bad for the guy being pummeled down there..if Hackney had fallen to the ground it would've been over..

And why can't people ever post videos without adding lame music to the background? I'd love to hear what the commentators have to say..

What exactly were the rules then? He's just kicking the guy's ass. The only restraint seems to be to not use knuckles.

A 400+ pound weight difference would mean that Emmanuel was nearly 600 pounds. I don't think he would be be able to even stand if he weighed that much.

Edit: I didn't read all the replies, he really did weigh more than 600 pounds!

I think back then they only had very basic rules - i.e. no grabbing or hitting the crotch, no eye gouging, etc.

Now it's much safer for the fighters. No hitting in the back of the head, no kneeing an opponent while they're down, or on their knees.

4. Hair pulling.
5. Fish hooking.
6. Groin attacks of any kind.

8. Small joint manipulation.
9. Striking to the spine or the back of the head.
10. Striking downward using the point of the elbow.
11. Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea.
12. Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh.
13. Grabbing the clavicle.

15. Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent.
16. Stomping a grounded opponent.
17. Kicking to the kidney with the heel.
18. Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.
19. Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area.
20. Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent.
21. Spitting at an opponent.
22. Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent.
23. Holding the ropes or the fence.
24. Using abusive language in the ring or fenced area.
25. Attacking an opponent on or during the break.
26. Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee.
27. Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat.
28. Flagrantly disregarding the instructions of the referee.
29. Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury.
30. Interference by the corner.
31. Throwing in the towel during competition.

^Just found that, lots of rules now. Better for the sport imo. Check out rule #19. I think that came into existence due to a Tank Abbott fight where he nearly chucked his opponent over the 6' cage.

my all-time favorite UFC fight! for the record, yarborough was 6'8", 618 lbs. hackney was unable to continue to the next round (successive fights back in the old days) due to a broken wrist. the alternate filling in hackney's spot won the title, and it was the last time an alternate was used.

Hackney could have won by making Yarborough chase him around the cage a few more times.

I can't believe some of these morbidly obese dudes are allowed to fight. Don't they have a maximum allowed blood pressure in pre-fight medical screening?

I remember the very first UFC back in the mid 90's here in Denver. Talk about a bloodsport! They had a sumo wrestler against a savate expert, and the savate expert literally kicked the guys freakin teeth out. Wild.......
