Leavers, feeders and scrubs have a huge effect, yes. But I've been mitigating that somewhat by looking at team composition before the match.

No crowd control? DODGE THAT CRAP.
Three tanks on 5v5? DODGE THAT CRAP.
Five ganky squishies, no support or tank? DODGE THAT CRAP.
Eve? DODGE THAT CRAP.
All melee or next to no magic damage? You know what comes next.

It's a matter of experience. I've started to smell out the team members who will let the carries tank & initiate then hope to pick off a weak straggler to maintain their K ratio at the expense of winning.

There's still no filter for scrubs and leavers but you can at least dodge some of the other fail lineups.

I find it hilarious how everytime someone posts something it just makes HoN look so much better. In the 1700-1800 PSR bracket leavers, feeders, and morons don't even exist because it's impossible to get 1700+ being any of those three, let alone a combination of the above.

And even the 1500-1600 bracket can easily be managed by simply joining "no leaver" games and eyeballing people's stats before the game starts. Someone on your team have a .3 K-D ratio? No biggie, bail before the game starts.

This is literally no different than LoL. Once you hit the high/elite ELO tiers, of course you're not going to find shitty players because you can't be a shitty player and make it up there.

And even the 1500-1600 bracket can easily be managed by simply joining "no leaver" games and eyeballing people's stats before the game starts. Someone on your team have a .3 K-D ratio? No biggie, bail before the game starts.

I don't know why LoL doesn't add a similar no leaver option.

I think this thread has been mostly positive, its a fun game. The frustrations we rant about are, just some frustrations. I try to have fun with it, and do not take the game serious enough to care about my stats or losing.

Its people themselves that sometimes put me over the top. Usually I can just ignore them or laugh at them. but once in a while it causes a ragequit or even a ragefeed!

I may have to as well. I dont have a ton of time either so maybe I am too eager to play because often someone ELSE will queuedodge. When nobody dodges I am like - "woot"!.

But lately I have been in some horrible teams or we are just going up against really good 5-man arranged teams. Both maybe.

Just curious but does anyone have any details on season 1? Riot has basically only hinted that it will contain ban draft and require you to be level 20. I'm trying to figure out if I can find a team/clan with my limited schedule.

They only source of any info on S1 is a recent Gamespy (?) interview that you're paraphrasing. Perhaps we can get an AT group formed for us casual to semi-serious players? I don't think they've even given out a potential start date for the season.

Definitely. I can usually play Tues - Fri anytime between about 7 - 9PM eastern. Sometimes later but it depends on if I'm at my place or the girlfriend's. Unfortunately, I don't have a laptop good enough to run the game.

Champs I play most: Ashe, Rammus, Morde, Zilean, and have started playing Morg and liking her lately.

Got most of the tier1 and tier2 champs unlocked so I can definitely work on some team synergies. Been playing mostly Ashe (~130 wins), Cho (~25 wins), Jax and Gangplank with a fair bit of Nasus, Morg and Trist. I also stink on ice with Mundo and Twitch.

My name is RhoXeD, i have added a few here, Zebano, Clinkster, Onita (though we havent had a chance to play) Shuut, and maybe a couple more.

I play Twitch beastly, gangplank, garen, olaf, akali, shen, nasus, sivir, katarina.

I usually only play 5 person premades (even if it does make for very hard games). I would rather lose with a team that tries to work together, then lose because of some pubbie trash.

I will add scaley, and xstrifex and try to get everyone together for some premades.

Weekdays work best for me. I'm on the weekends, but its sporadic. I don't really have one champion I play... I pick and choose based on team comp. I've played more melee DPS chars, but also play Nasus and Mundo. I mix in a few magic dps, but don't have the runes for it yet.

Any night around 7-9pm EST is prime. Except Fridays I am usually not on the computer.

My best champ is Shen for Tank/team support. Next best Shaco for DPS. I splash in Blitzcrank from time to time. My runes are not suited for AP/Casters.

Flowerbridge is my main account with 400++ wins, but I'm on Flowurbridge (just got level 30 last night) and Flowarbridge (level 24) as well when I need some less stressful games where I can play other characters for fun and not worry about my ELO tanking.

I also wanted to brag that I'm on (at least) a 9 game win streak with Shaco, my new main. I have lost other games when someone else has taken him though.

@ Saga - the only good thing about HON in how their ELO(PSR) is publicly available is that while in the 1500-1600 range, you can scope out people and dodge them. Unfortunately, that's not available in LOL, so if you really are a good player and want to raise your ELO, then you need to play carries. All the problems with leavers, feeders, newbs (obviously), and idiots are gone at more competitive levels.

I mainly do jenna/blitzcrank right now. But i am also comfortable in kassdin, poppy and sivir. I likes to play jax but i dont think I have much success with him lately in pick up groups, maybe if there's a good tank or CC things will be different.

I can also do TF, but I started building him AP so I am more of a last hitter type.

Hurm, if we really want to do this, don't suppose anyone has a Vent server?

Aside from obvious benefit of voice chat it is also a good way to log on, and see who is playing.

I have a small group of "friends" I play with that has a vent channel but only reason I wouldnt invite anyone here to that is because a couple of them are hellishly annoying. I guess Friends was a bad term. Long story.

If no one has one, I think I'll just purchase one. It's $4/month for a 10 person server. That should be plenty of room.

Played a few games with v8envy last night. Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of going up against a very well coordinated 4-man premade group twice. Shen, Jax, Pantheon, Fiddle and then it was Annie/Ezreal that swapped in the games. Way too much dying going on early game due to overextending, not going back to heal, and not using wards to prevent the inevitable ganks by Fiddle. I can't stress it enough - buy wards! Anytime you are leaving base and have 90g, buy one. Knowing that a Fiddle/Shaco/whoever is sitting in the river bushes getting ready to gank you is worth far more than the 90g. You can flat out avoid it or maybe even pre-emptively gank them. If everyone is buying them then no one person is burdened with dropping 3-400g on getting a bunch because no one else will.
