Warwick is still as useless as he was pre-patch. His ult still strands him there for the full duration if his target cleanses, flashes, or otherwise escapes it.

Haven't played the new guy yet since others in my group last night called it first in the few games I got to play. He seems pretty cool though. Can be built for DPS or as a decent tank.

I had a problem with it too. Right after we joined the queue, one of the guys in my group announced he had to leave. So I tried clicking the Cancel several times and it never registered. We went into champion select and it was either take a leave or play a game minus one teammate from the start.

hi guys, first tried the game yesterday and i am very impressed by the quality of it, i think it went a long way to take everything that's wrong out of DoTA and make improvement out of it (especially when you can reconnect to a game after crash).

There's no way to know without playing.

Right now, the unquestioned "must have" hero for any competitive team is Twisted Fate. However Riot has been telling us for a couple months that a remake is in the works to make him less OP.

Blitzcrank is another. If you can land his grab reliably on enemy heroes, you will be a monster. Great initiator with that ability, has a knockup, and can be built to do a bunch of damage AND take a beating himself.

edit: Alistar is the top tier tank. An AOE heal, a knockup, an ability that knocks enemies back/forward (depends on direction), and an ult that just makes him a monster tank.

Knockups are a big deal because they're basically a stun (your character is thrown into the air for 2 seconds or so), most apply a slow after you land, and things like cleanse and merc treads which help you avoid/reduce stun/snare/disable durations do nothing against knockups (but do against the slow/stun/etc applied after)

Ashe is a good ranged carry and Sivir is probably the strongest pusher in the game.

the match making is kinda poor, last night i was matched with a bunch of lvl 30s and being me testing sion, i stunk up the game badly, lol.

i want to get alister, but i also want to try out poppy, which one do you prefer jules?

Matchmaking is pretty poor. That being said, I'd say only level differences of 10+ levels are significant enough that skill might have a problem overcoming.

Both Alistar and Poppy are effective heroes, though I expect Poppy will be nerfed a bit in upcoming patches. And as I mentioned a few posts back, Alistar is pretty much the best tank in the game right now. Which is kind of funny because he never used to be considered as such until the last few patches. Just goes to show you how game mechanics chances (lower health towers, the recent change in the XP system, etc) can drastically alter a hero's role.

I've only played both heroes a handful of times and Alistar was awhile back, so by default I'd side with Poppy.

Been playing this a huge amount lately. My biggest problem is how leavers early in the game make or break PUG matches.

Still, with a few of the epic "turtle up then win from behind" results the good more than makes up for the bad.

Loving Tristana a whole lot. Kept ganking a Twitch (he wasn't very good and repeatedly got close enough for a W/R into a tower/Q) in one game last night, and doing shockingly well vs. a Blitzclank in another. I may have to buy Trist, but short term the el cheapo Ashe is what I'll use.

That rune book looks really, really daunting...

I haven't had a leaver except for the first 2 days, one of them openly admitted that it is his second account because his first one is stuck in a bad game...
i bought fiddle, the guy is fun to play and down right nasty.

Best part about the game is definitely how much effort Riot is constantly putting into it. Each patch (weekly, plus hotfixes) has tons of balance and bug fixes, and often come with new Champions. Ezreal is probably coming tomorrow (can't wait), Mordekaiser came with the last patch and I've played over 20 games with him so far... he's a badass. Riot obviously cares about their game and their audience.

What's wrong with Doom? What's wrong with Warcraft? What's wrong with gold box D&D games? Nothing. They're just old games that have been surpassed by new ones that introduce new features to the genre.

That and not everyone owns a copy of WC3+FT.

Dota is dota because it is on war3. when you bring it out of war3 then its not dota anymore. its just an imitator.

I tried HoN and everything. Yeah the graphics are better and it has cool features (like in game voice). But the gameplay is not the same.

My best example is this: Crysis. Yeah crysis had really amazing graphics but did it really do anything else? no, it was just like every other game out there.

Ashe is good, a lot of top tier players use her but she is very, very squishy and frail.

The best 450 IP hero imo is ****Sivir*****. She is as strong as Ashe, a great carry, great team character, an amazing pusher, a piss easy farmer, and has more survivability than Ashe with her spell shield and ult (run speed).

Matchmaking can be very very poor early on, but as you get higher and higher to 30 where you've played more games, as with any ladder, your ELO will even out and be at about the appropriate skill level.



Poppy's Q ability was already nerfed a while ago, but she's still pretty popular and a decent hero.


Tristana is also one of the better heros in the game, if you want to play a good ranged carry for only 1350 IP. Unlike Ashe, she has rocket jump which can be used both offensively and defensively as a escape mechanism, including across otherwise impassable terrain.


For people who are playing completely for free, the rune book will definitely be daunting. Tier 1 runes are the least inexpensive in terms of benefit to cost ratio , and once you hit level 10 and maybe even level 20, I highly suggest sticking with tier 1 runes until you find a bunch of characters that you like and then purchase runes accordingly.

You can probably find which runes are commonly used and which have the most "benefit per efficiency."

I have been playing this game for about 3 weeks now and I can't play anything else lol

I'm only level 16, but im getting there. I bought Gangplank, Katarina, Sivir, and Nasus. I have to say i use Gang the most, his speed and quick healing is great. I will +1 for sivir being the best 450PT champion.

my biggest barrier is playing vs a skilled ryze.

if anyone wants some games my SN is RhoXeD , i currently dont have anyone good to play with, so any takers would be great.

yeah sivir is great, i think im 4-0 with her, even without any practice. and im 7-3 with poppy, but im piss poor with fiddle =(
