Funny how Karma works even in liberal areas.. I have ZERO sympathy for the criminals. Too bad they didn't implode into rat food.

I wouldn't mind Dems getting tough on crime at all, especially violent crimes like carjackings and assaults.

Carjackers should get the DP imo if they just speed away and kill innocent bystanders.

Didn't realize some felt so strongly about car theft as an offense, that they wish death upon those who do it. Bit extreme IMO. In this case, they were kids. No chance for redemption allowed?

The 2 dead were the driver, age 16 and a passenger, age 15. Two others from the car, also aged 16 and 15, are critical. And we don't even know if they had anything to do with the theft of the car.

IDK if car theft should be a crime punishable by death. That seems a little much......perhaps we should remove one of there hands instead then if they get caught doing it a second time remove the other hand. If they get caught a third time then it's definitely death.

Anyway, sarcasm aside....pretty crappy situation that could have happened anywhere regardless of the State it happened in.

I'm probably 10 planets left of everyone on the forum,

but I do not like criminals who try to kill every innocent driver or pedestrian in the name of "fun".

You deprive someone of their car, how are they going to keep their job? Keep their home, feed their kids?
In our broke ass society, the crime does appear to be serious enough.

And yet NY suburbs somehow managed to flip 4 solid blue seats to red.. and we now have a GOP congress.. and you still wonder why?

Those in power/ running for office need to start getting their heads out of their asses and see people can and will vote for a total fake sense of security if Dems keep telling them just accept criminals only getting a slap on the wrist.

People don't like police, and DA going soft on crime!

The whole teenage thing so lets take it easy on them is a insult to everyone who is not a criminal, who works hard and does the right thing.

Going easy on them just encourages more crime.

However, the cheering on dead kids for stealing a car is really more an indictment on the near total failure of our Government/policing system to provide actual functional remedies to societal ills than anything else.

If your car got stolen, you reported it to cops, you were mildly inconvenienced riding public transit to work for a couple days until the cops got your car back, no one would wish death on non-violent theft.

If your car got stolen, you reported it to cops, the cops laugh in your face and tell you good luck, you lose your job because mass transit sucks, and you life begins a slow downward spiral that you potentially may never recover from... then you end up wishing death on those guilty of non-violent theft.

Yeah seriously.. shit isn't as bad as the conservaterrorists make out.. and I'm more afraid of them than any asylum seeker brought here so far even though we're getting overwhelmed by no place to put them, but they seem to be good folks.

There is also a local homeless problem but I try and do what I can, giving a few bucks when I can. They're not the problem.. and most of them never turn to crime and say thank you if you offer them food or a few bucks.

But I just can't ignore muggers, thieves, car jackers and criminal gangs and pretend to say they are not a problem.
