How come so many of you guys have 10/09/1999 as a join date? Is that the start date of the current forum?
There was a complete database crash and everyone had to re-register when they logged in that day.
As long as we had FT, it showed the day and month you joined. Now, with the change to vB, it just shows the month and year, hence Oct 1999 is all you see now.

before heatware existed. Even in its early years, many of us didn't bother to log many of our trades there.

Ha ha, yeah, me, too. AGN forever! I remember considering AT the idiot kiddies forum vs AGN even back then, and the level of maturity amongst the posters dwarfs your average AT poster of today because the internet was FAR smaller and all the teens with a smart phone and an attitude were busy pulling their pud and collecting transformers or something back then rather than grandly sharing their every single thought on the human condition on the web.
If you were on the web back then, that assumed a level of tech knowledge from the git-go.
Did you guys know that ATF was regularly listed by analytics as one of the top 10 forums by visits and membership of
any forums in
any language on
any topic on the entire WWW back in those days?
We might not even crack the top 10,000 now.
