Old-timer here. I can remember the old forums before UBB. Actually, I remember Anand posting on the newsgroups with his "cyrix" ID. My old name was 'wje' :;

Just wondering how many members remember the UBB and/or pre UBB days of Anandtech?
I just fried an old hard drive that had some HTML files on it from the "Semi Olden Days". The Butter thread, some GUTB posts, H8Tank posts, Magnus Kain posts, Nowhere Man whining about some BS, etc, and it got me thinkin about way back when.
Who else here is considered Anandtech Elderly, besides the hoodlum crew? (Red Dawn, etc)
Me too.Originally posted by: kranky
You know Monel is an old-timer because he has a space in his handle!
I lurked on UBB (long enough to remember two entire database wipeouts that meant everyone had to re-register) and I registered when FuseTalk started.
Ever wonder why the oldest members all joined in Oct 1999?
