Yeah....OOOOOLLLLLDDDDDD, this movie is. Well, in CG Community terms, anyway. I have often wondered if Anandtech people were in tune with the CG community? Maybe not? I can post stuff here often. There's new independent stuff like this coming out every day.
And, BTW, though it's pretty much been covered by now, no, these were'nt KIDS that made this, and it's no huge triumph over hollywood effects people. The people who made it WERE (and are) hollywood effects people. This movie did not get them a job. They already had them. This was a spare time project (not that we animators have a lot of that) It is, nonetheless, cool that they made it with their own computers and their own consumer equipment, and all off-the-shelf software. Anyway, that one link was OK, I guess in terms of the making of and all, but it's best just to go to the
official 405 website if you want all the goods.

By the way, it's VERY LIKELY that these guys are among us here at AT. If you check their FAQ, you'll see that one of the computers they used was a dual celeron (presumeably on a BP6?) with both CPU's overclocked to 450. Hmmmm.... Sure sound like Anandtechers to me.
