<< My freind has a Pentium 3 700, a TNT2 Card, and a 19" Sony trinitron at 1152 x 864 X 32. I have a K7 1.33, Radeon DDR 64mb, a CTX VL950 19" at 1280 X 1024 x 32. DIVX playback, especially at full screen, is much better on his computer. Is it because of the Trinitron? (we both have the same version of the divx codec and directx. and we both use the same player). >>
The problem could be your video card, what's the resolution of the movie your playing? Some ATI and Matrox cards will not start the video overlay(which accelerates the video)if the vertical or horizontal resolution is not a multiple of 16. To see if your cards is starting the video overlay just reduce your color depth to 8bit and then start the movie. If the colors are messed up then the video overlay isn't working. I know theres a fix for Matrox's cards but I'm not sure anyone has fixed this problem with ATI's cards.
