Well, I'm really digging being in my 30's... I recently turned 34 and I feel much more confident than I ever did in my teens or twenties. I used to be really worried about what I looked like and depressed if I didn't live up to the impossible standards of beauty that our society sets thanks to airbrushing and cosmetic surgery.
As far as I am concerned, life will only get better as I get older. And when I am old and gray, I will delight in the freedom of NOT being valued first and foremost for how much of a 'babe' I am. The things that I am really good at, like helping wounded animals to heal and teaching children about the world... those will be the things people will (hopefully) admire me for.
I look forward to being a strong and wise abuelita.
