This is actually what steam has done with Xcom. It installs and runs DOS box.

I'd pay five bux a game to run Xwing, Tie Fighter, Privateer, and Betrayl at Krondor again.

None, the only game I play is COD on PS3.

The last time I played old games it was StarCraft, FarCry, and HL2/CS:S. And Vampire: The Masquerade.

Jesus, that must have taken days. I started my game like at 3 or 4 and walked away at 9 or so.

What does that mean - it'll only show from the 2 player side? Do you have to start a 2 player game and use the second player to prevent the roll over?

I didn't know the roll over was preventable.

edit - this is what I was trying to quote - "15,999,990 (this score will only show from the player 2 side; the player 1 side rolls every million points). "

I also enjoy playing Star Wars Rebellion (> than 10 yrs old) which was a massive flop but still has its moments for me.

I too, recently caught the wave, but not so much for nostalgia sake, but cuz no one is making a decent *combat* flight sim anymore. Prophecy, and Secret Ops, IMO, was, and is still one of the best. I was pleasantly surprised to find I was not alone. With mostly fan based support, it is possible to play the game on a new machine. The movies have been converted to high resolution, patches, and apps. have written to emulate 3d3, open gl, 3dfx, and glide. I was able to get my old nonsupported :| micro$oft joystick to work with the, JoyToKey app. I would highly recommend you look here, http://www.wcnews.com/holovids...ematics_prophecy.shtml

You kids should download movie pack 1, and give a look, but be warned, you may get hooked on this game as well.

If anyone (not ridiculously good at it) ever wants to play Total Annihilation or UT:GOTY over the 'net (assuming such things are even possible) I'd definitely be down for it whenever.

This thread has me motivated to go home and load Diablo. I might even have some of my old characters saved somewhere so I don't have to start out whacking skeletons for five hours.

I try so hard not to start games because I know I'll have to finish them, but I started playing Knights of the Old Republic again! Before that, I played Grim Fandango, and before that, I played through Fallout. I'll probably play each of those again at some point.

The name rang a bell, and sure enough, going through the ole cardboard box, next to X-Wing Alliance, StarLancer, and Descent 3, I found Freespace 2 *colossus*, is that the one? Don't know why I never played it though. Maybe I'll try and load it later.

I dug up a copy of realMYST I had kicking around. It's the first Myst game, but in a 3d world instead of point & click slideshows. First game that taxed my geForce GTS back in the day.
