I am set and not planning to upgrade till 5+ years so hopefully by then I can get a 8k OLED screen for 1k
QFT. I've been on a 24" MVA monitor for the past 8 years. I tried out the BenQ BL3200PT to see if I can finally upgrade (I want a MVA panel as I like the black levels), but that plan was hosed as that panel had several issues, and every 30"+ panel I look at has issues it seems. I'd pay double what the equivalent LCD monitor cost if I could get an OLED monitor.
LG is prepping 65" and 77" OLED TVs with HDR capabilities for superb color accuracy, contrast, and equal color gamut to professional monitors for movie editing.
A 65" UHD borderless TV will be also on the floor, as well as 8K 65" TV and 31.5" monitor.
What kind of issues did you see with that panel?
Colour banding, dead pixels, and there was some chirping noise coming from the monitor whenever I was scrolling through a page. Hardforum has a thread about that monitor detailing the issues. I got a relatively old panel firmware though so YMMV.
I also own this panel. Had dead pixels in the first but second one is flawless. And such is the case with all modern panels. Swap banding for IPS glow/backlight bleed and that pretty much covers every panel out there.
And it's not alone.

There may be more oled notebooks before the year ends. The spectre tends to cost less than the carbon line but now there are at least two notebooks with optional oled displays coming.
Unless something else better comes along, I'll be replacing my late 2011 notebook with that oled spectre.
