>>>is buydig.com a good place to deal with, they got some nice prices.<<<
In my experience, they are marginally acceptable.
1st experience in December: I ordered the Minolta Dimage 7, got friendly with the sales rep and had no problems ordering...he did keep pushing for me to buy their overpriced accessories, but I made it clear that I wasn't interested. Got my camera 2 days later at the stated price + $24.95 for shipping it 20 miles (he wouldn't budge on the excessive shipping charge).
2nd experience: 2 weeks ago, I wanted to buy the Sony DSC-F707. I called and asked to speak to the same rep...he said he would call me back, and when he did, I reminded him of our previous conversation (trying to get on his 'good side'). I told him I wanted the F707 and he told me that there are 3 in stock and that I wouldn't get one unless I order accessories with it. He als stated that [he] "can put in the order, but they won't give it to" [me]..."those cameras will go to buyers that purchase accessories." End of conversation. I called again a couple days later and didn't ask for any particular rep...the sales rep I got told me that their system is down, they're getting ready to leave (I didn't know that Shabbos was moved to 1:30PM Fridays), and that I would have to order via the Web site. End of conversation. I called again last week and got a rep that pushed the warranty a couple of times, but gave me the camera wiith no real hassles - price went down $2 from the time of my first call. $24.95 shipping again. $821.00 for the camera; I'll PM in a few weeks to make up for that nasty shipping charge. The upside is that Buydig/Worldwide Direct sells merchandise with all of the 'normal' accessories intact and a US warranty...the downside is cutting through their BS and sometimes wasting a lot of time with them.
