• Pacific Digital 16X DVD-ROM beige bezel for $29
  (I know...kinda suck, but it's in hand and no waiting for shipping, and within a couple of $$ to Newegg's price for 16X DVD-ROMs)
  
• MadDog 52X/16X CDRW/DVD black bezel combo drive for $39
  (really suck, but again, within a few bucks of Newegg's prices and no waiting for shipping)
  
• Brother PPF-775 thermal fax machine (reconditioned) for $19
  
• Altec Lansing ATP-3 speaker system (2.1) for $39
  
• Western Digital 120GB SE hard drive (7200rpm, 8MB cache) for $79
  

Remember, these are all retail versions of the hardware so include software, cables, mounting screws, etc. when applicable.


Just a heads-up.....and sorry if these aren't the hottest deals, but for a quick, cheap system build, some of the prices ain't that bad.

Some good deals but the Brother machine is a plain paper fax that uses the film ribbons, good machine but not sure how the refurbs are though.

I've heard some are, but I've forgotten how to tell by S/N. If I remember correctly, there should be a thread archived here somewhere about what S/Ns are Lite-Ons.


Remember, OM's F&F sale on Saturday has a coupon for 10% off coupon all clearance merchandise......that'd make the WD 120GB HD $71.10 (that gets the price down to .59/GB, and that's not bad!), and the cheapie burners $17.10.

Yeah, I know the film ribbon really bites and the refurb bit is sorta unsettling, but look at this way......maybe at lteast they worked out the bugs of that machine. On the other hand, it has a warranty and personally, I've never had a problem with making returns to OM, at least my local one. OM's rebate process may bite the big one, but making returns to their store is painless.

My local OM has had 100 dvd+r ridata's on clearance forever. Had been for $60. I was there about 3 weeks ago and they were down to $50. I don't know what they are waiting on but they had a ton of them.

Patiently waiting on them to drop to sub $40
