There's always a chance that they will send out the rebates. But what they're doing is just giving you a choice, you can either take the rebate OR the coupon. If you use the coupon, no rebate. If you use the rebate, no coupon. The Rebate center WILL see if you used a coupon, and if they feel like it, they WILL reject it. ymmv as usual
I would have to disagree... There are alway NAY-SAYERS on the really good deals, where the fine print always says something like "not valid with other offers". However, up till now, have we seen a single instance where OM reneged on this? I don't recall one, but please enlighten me if it has happened.
In other words, it's not really YMMV at all, everyone has had success in this regard, (excepting of course the usual random "mishaps" with rebate centers) the only question is whether the OM rebate center has suddenly changed policy. I for one think that would be a very bad PR move to make for OM... if they just disallow the coupon, the customer is a LOT less PO'ed than if the sale goes through, the rebate gets sent in, and THEN they're screwed. I don't believe OM is looking to screw anyone, nor alienate customers by waiting till after the sale to "cheat" you out of a rebate... I think their effort was very straightforward, to prevent the $20 off coupon from being applied, and if they accidentally missed disallowing the $30 off coupon, they accept it and would rather keep customer loyalty than try to get a few dollars from potentially young, life-long customers.
I also think they're reading this.
