Out of curiousity, has anyone tried just going to CC to see if they would PM the AR price on this drive? I didn't find ANY CC rebates applicable to this drive on their website...

Might be worth a shot-

The restriction that they put on the product page: " **THIS OFFER CANNOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER COUPON OFFERS**" can possibly be used by Office Max to deny you your rebate. You'll have to enclose a copy of your receipt and it will show $50 in discounts, so they'll know you used a coupon.

I'm not taking a chance. I'll wait for another deal that doesn't have that restriction.

yeah officemax could deny your $20.00 rebate, but the $50.00 manufacture rebate should not be affected worst case is you Pay $70.00 for the drive which is still not bad, not the best i have done, but still a good deal.

$118.61 at Checkout...but I'd rather get the drive for $50 than $70 so I'm going to wait until black friday and see what's out there.

No, it did not work for me yesterday. They would match any price before mail-in rebate, which is $159.98 - $20 Instant Rebate = $139.98.

I talked to Omax customer service about "Discount I received through e-mail","$20 Instant Rebate" and "THIS OFFER CANNOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER COUPON OFFERS". I was told, if it is link from e-mail and says nothing about restriction, then it is ok to use; if it is not ok, it will not be applied when check out. There is another kind of coupon, which you need to type in numbers or barcode, those are No-No. Bascially, "Discount" and "Coupon" are two different things.

I won't be too surprised when rebate is rejected because of it, since there is no written words defining what is coupon, what is not. I am so tempting.

Yes, I did have the coupon work for me as well but I cancelled the order since I have a feeling it will be more hassle than it's work due to the disclaimer on the receipt.

I am going to try to get the WD 160gb for $40 AR AP (Sams) or a mis-boxed 200 tonight from CC if I am lucky...

How would OM know @ the rebate center what the $50 discount was... They are not going to cancle a lousy $20MIR based on that $50 discount...
Like I said OM $20 off $125 did not stack so this is a WEB flaw....They will have no choice to axept the $20MIR based on they gave the SALE the go ahead in the first place in the allowed time frame...
I'm buying two of these for the CC DirectTV Tivos I got for $50 a Pice.......So I'm all over this deal based on I've been waiting for a 120GB Deal worth jummping on*!*

There's always a chance that they will send out the rebates. But what they're doing is just giving you a choice, you can either take the rebate OR the coupon. If you use the coupon, no rebate. If you use the rebate, no coupon. The Rebate center WILL see if you used a coupon, and if they feel like it, they WILL reject it. ymmv as usual

I would have to disagree... There are alway NAY-SAYERS on the really good deals, where the fine print always says something like "not valid with other offers". However, up till now, have we seen a single instance where OM reneged on this? I don't recall one, but please enlighten me if it has happened.

In other words, it's not really YMMV at all, everyone has had success in this regard, (excepting of course the usual random "mishaps" with rebate centers) the only question is whether the OM rebate center has suddenly changed policy. I for one think that would be a very bad PR move to make for OM... if they just disallow the coupon, the customer is a LOT less PO'ed than if the sale goes through, the rebate gets sent in, and THEN they're screwed. I don't believe OM is looking to screw anyone, nor alienate customers by waiting till after the sale to "cheat" you out of a rebate... I think their effort was very straightforward, to prevent the $20 off coupon from being applied, and if they accidentally missed disallowing the $30 off coupon, they accept it and would rather keep customer loyalty than try to get a few dollars from potentially young, life-long customers.

I also think they're reading this.

While I agree with most of what you say, I don't think that customer loyalty is an issue here. Those jumping on this kind of deals aren't really loyal customers anyway (they'd switch to another company as they see fit). Furthermore nobody can really be angry if a $20 rebate is denied for such a kind of a deal...

Maybe, but I actually buy office supplies as needed, for a non-profit organization. While not a HUGE volume, it adds up.

As for customer loyalty, well, if I'm buying "things" at staples and I need some laser envelopes (or whatever) I'd buy those there too, (at whichever store I'm ordering from) but Staples has gone strict with their coupons, so I haven't bought anything from Staples in a while, so to a certain extent whether you want to call it loyalty, convenience, or simply that I favor companies that do ME right, OM will get more of the purchases i have control over. Even if I went to a B&M, I'd still go to OM now, over Staples. I want to see the companies that benefit ME, prosper.

I agree here*!*This is a plain case of OM missing the $30 off $150 coupon.....For One..: if the $20IS came off First Like it should have then the $30 off would not apply...Any time I have bought a product with a "IS" it's reflected off the flip online before any additional applyable discounts! This deal allows the additional discounts to be applyed before the advertised Instant saveings....It's clearly backwards.....I feel the rebate will go through for the OM $20 the $50 can not go through base on its Manufacture, they could care less if you got it for $1....OM @ a BM would not allow for a Coupon to be used based on the Statement advertised! Online they are responsible to block or disallow a combination of the TWO this is not our choice as shopers to not try to get the best possible deal here, this is there responsibility to not alow this item to be perchased in combination with the coupon.
The reason they post Can Not be Used with any other Coupon is because they want the shoper to know up Front,so there won't be any BITCHING CUSTEMERS when they can't use the coupon.. ...........CB

Now its on dealsea.com and I guess in all other deal sites as well. So I guess as more people get in our case strengthens. We WILL GET BOTH the rebates.

Just got the drive, it is a 3 years warrenty. (Everyone is 8MB cache nowadays, this one also.) Anyway, if you always buy extended warrenty, this actually comes out cheaper, even you don't get $20 rebate. However, I talked to the store manager again. He does not think the rebate will be invalid -- if you really worry, buy more than one things in this order, the discount offfer is toward whole order, so they really can't hold that against you -- I bought only the drive in my order, so I maybe still have nightmare haunting me...

Got my drive yesterday. Came with a recept in the box that had $50 discount on it but did not have the text about it not being valid if used with a coupon as it did on the web when I ordered it. I'm going to photo copy it and send it in instead of my recept I printed off the net when I ordered the drive just to be certin I don't get any flac. I think they will honer it b/c it is not a coupon but rather a discount link through.

I don't think it is possible to get both rebates. I received the drive and the box has only one upc barcode on it. There are two "proof of purchase" labels but they have no product identifcation so i doubt they will work.

I placed my order on Tuesday. But yesterday I got a phone message from OfficeMax saying because I can only use 1 coupon for this item, I need to call them back to either cancel the order or pay the higher price (without $30 coupon.) Since I have printed out my order online and the email confirmation, do they have right to cancel my order?
