Although it may not be the greatest price for discs, considering that there are no rebates involved the 100 pack Memorex would be a good deal if the sleeve says Made In Japan. The Japanese made discs Memorex has been selling have been Taiyo Yuden's. You might want to buy these in-store so you can look at the package to see where they are made as most recently they have been packaging a lot of Taiwanese discs. I don't have an Office Max nearby but my nearest Circuit City still has some of the Memorex 100 pack that are Made In Japan. Of course you can buy the Fuji's when Best Buy has them on sale for around ten cents each disc AR. Fuji rebates take a while, but I've always gotten mine.

If it doesn't show up on-line, she can order it BY PHONE (1-877-OFFICEMAX). Per OMAX's new policy, you can't apply an OMAX CPN on an order containing FAR itmes. Thus, she'll have to pay the SALES TAX! :Q

K-Byte rebates take FOREVER whether they are coming from OfficeMax or K-Byte directly. They ALWAYS take at LEAST three months or longer, so be prepared to wait. If you want to go for FAR DDR RAM, go with Kingston RAM. These ALWAYS come within six weeks of submissions, very fast compared to K-Byte. Because it takes so long to get rebates from K-Byte, I no longer buy them even if they are FAR.

I had 3 k-byte rebates this year, they all took 3-4 months, while the 4 kingston rebates came within 4-5 weeks. I agree with you, I have stopped buying the K-byte memory, I just do not like waiting that long.

Get a couple of far items with it and use a $25 coupon and it comes to only $25 bucks! That's a very hot deal even though it's refurbished. Does anyone know if it comes with ink? That would suck if I had to buy new cartridges right away.

Printer came like new, with completely filled carts (better than new infact lol).

It looks like all the FAR items (and even the inexpensive AR items like the ValueDisc 200pk CD-R's) have been taken off the web-site.

If OMAX doesn't put them back on-line, you're going to have a very tough time applying a coupon to a phone order containing FAR ITEMS. A few weeks ago OMAX CSR's started enforcing a policy whereby orders containing FAR ITEMS may not have coupons applied to them, PERIOD. Even if your order (w/o the FAR ITEMS) meets the terms of the coupon, they're apparently still not allowing cpns if you add a FAR ITEM to that order. (The last part is very stupid on their part; however, they're apparently tired of getting slammed by these deals!)

OMAX hasn't yet enhanced their web-site to the point where orders containing FAR ITEMS will be unable to use coupons, so in the interim, they're apparently removing the FAR ITEMS right before sales start.

Last time (2 weeks ago) they did the same thing; however, for whatever reason they restored a majority of the FAR ITEMS back on-line for 1 DAY (sometime during Monday I believe). If you get such an opportunity again, JUMP ON IT!

Those comments came from me, because I think that Diggler rules in all the hard work he puts into these threads. Heck, I just steal the ad and scan it, then I walk away. TheDiggler adds links and monitors the thread thru the upcoming weeks and answers a lot of questions. Remember he isn't getting paid or gaining anything from this. Look at me, I just scan it and share it. I don't answer any questions.

So give the guy a break. If it weren't for him we all wouldn't have our life savings tied up in rebates (LOL)

Besides, if you didn't post those notes on the scan, they might be able to get an idea of where you picked up the ads from and keep an eye out for you.

Honestly though, you guys are coming in here looking at the thread and information that this guy put up for you as a favor and giving him a hard time. If you see he takes things too personally, then stop, you're not going to change who he is by giving him more of a hard time. Otherwise you risk losing him providing you with this info. It wouldn't be the first time a good source of advance ads stops posting them.

Thanks to all involved in providing not just this ad but all ads because I am sure it takes a lot of work and time that you don't need to put in, not to mention some added risk. And please try not to let the ingrates get to you.

Thought you should know that last time (2 weeks ago), the FAR items also were on the website Sunday PM, which is when I picked them up.

By the way, I also, think TheDiggler, jimmywalt, and CandyDavid are doing one heck of a job (for free) for all of us.

I can certainly sympathize with them, when people complain they can't read the scan, want tech specs, or ask for answers to questions that are already answered in their well layed out/supplied material

does anyone know if they any good ??

i'll prob hook this CD-ROM up to my system and check and see if its any good..

I dont know if this is in all markets, but there was a 1/2 size ad in the front of the officemax ad. There is a 48x16x48 external I/O magic drive for $49.99 after rebates.

My store did not have any, so they substituted the Cendyne 52x24x52 external for $49.99 out the door. I guess this is a little bit of a brag and moan, but it may also be a corporate issued substitution.

Also, upon checking on rebateshq, there is a $20 AND a $30 rebate on this drive. One is an OM rebate, and the other is a CENDYNE. If you can get the same substitution that I was able to get, this drive is essentially FAR (or even better if you use a coupon)

NOTE - K-Byte 256 MB DDR rebate - Rebate form has wrong UPC code! Page 41 of the OM June 2003 rebate booklet (mfg rebate) has the wrong UPC code for the DDR-2100 part. The UPC shown is for the 512Mb DIMM not the 256Mb DIMM that's on sale. I noticed this when I bought it this morning and now have a copy of the OM store memo that cross-references SKUs with rebate info. The memo identifies the UPC error and says the correct UPC (761133828489) it will be honored. I can scan the memo if someone wants to post it. The last time something like this happened, I submitted the memo with the rebate paperwork just to avoid any potential hassles, and everything went ok.

Are the "ValuDisc" CDR's any good? Anyone have any idea who these are made by?

I checked out the Lifetime Warranty and it would appear that OMAX is the one who guarantees it.
