Damn, looks like the only coupons available right now are 150+ ones. That sucks. Guess it's no go after all. I don't have any USB printer cable any way and that would cost me another $30.

Just got back from Omax. Picked up the WD 120G. The manager accepted a printed $30 off $150 coupon from their site, plus the drive rang up as $159.99 at the register instead of $169.99. So, $129.99 + tax, minus $70 in rebates. (I hope!)

Not FAR, but not too bad.

The memo identifies the UPC error and says the correct UPC (761133828489) it will be honored. I can scan the memo if someone wants to post it. The last time something like this happened, I submitted the memo with the rebate paperwork just to avoid any potential hassles, and everything went ok.

Thanks, came here hoping to hear that. If you want to e-mail me the memo I can host, I'd also like to print it.

frankq: I emailed you the jpg file. But I found a better way to file. Go to
Easier Rebate, enter the info requested for the K-byte rebate and file it that way. The form on that site has the correct UPC number.

Thanks, I guess I will just go through that website. For anyone else, I hosted the "memo" at the link below.

I checked out the Lifetime Warranty and it would appear that OMAX is the one who guarantees it.
They've worked ok for me; however, my CD-RW is a Lite-On. Previously when I had a BENQ installed, it had problems w/ all sorts of cheapo media.

The general consensus seems to be this: Don't use the ValueDisc CD-R's to store critical data (i.e. such as system backups, unless they're short lived backups). Not saying your data WILL get lost; however, these are by no means "high quality" CD-R's. Ya get what ya pay for, know what I mean?

Note:

Easierrebates.com has the wrong rebate for the $20 from Kbyte online. It reads as follows:

Rebate Check : $20.00
Terms:
Limit one (1) Rebate per item.
Copy of UPC's and receipts are acceptable.
Submissions must be postmarked within 14 days after purchase date.
Kingston KVR-PC2100DDR/256, UPC=740617067934 is the only acceptable substitute.
Good on purchases between 6/1/03 & 7/5/03 in Contiguous US; between 6/8/03 & 7/12/03 in Alaska and Hawaii; between 6/15/03 & 7/19/03 in Puerto Rico and the VI.
Valid ONLY at OfficeMax.

Also, the Officemax $20 rebate calls for what was a yellow stick UPC over the Kbyte UPC on the stick of memory I bought at a local B&M store. Since the Kbyte rebate is incorrect, I'm sending both UPCs in and not giving them the option of denying it for an incorrect UPC.

How is that incorrect ? When you do the lookup on easierebate, you get 2 hits (rebates). The top one is the manufacturer's and the bottom one is OM's. Both are for UPC=761133828489 (under "Valid UPC(s):" which is correct for the PC2100 unit. OM will let you use a Kingston part as a substitute for the rebate but obviously K-byte won't. What UPC do you have ?

Edit: This RAM has its own thread.

Edit again: Now that I think about it, the register only printed 1 "rebate receipt" so something's amiss.

Mine is the plain PC2100 (not the 2100/2700 you have) and has the UPC listed on EasierRebate (and on that "memo" I sent you). Yours seems to be a differen part. As for receipt, I just mailed the original to k-byte and the copies to OM, just all other dual rebates.

I totally missed that "substitute" word. Laff.

False alarm.

How many comps/monitors do you think that UPS will support, and for how long? Anyone have more information on it?

Thanks,

Dave.

Sound like great deals, but some of the rebates ask for the "dated sales receipt" or apply to "products purchased at OfficeMax." Does this mean mean that these products have to be purchased from B&M Officemax, or can these rebates be applied to the stuff bought from OfficeMax.com?

USB 2.0 cables are 2 for $6.99 at Sam's Club (in MN, anyway).

And there's a $50 off $250 coupon out there, it just might take 24/7 to find it.

Joe

P.S.

If you use that $50 off coupon, you can end up getting the WD 120 gig drive for $49.99 + tax and stamps...

Mad Dog 56x CD-ROM drive, $30
Best Data 56k modem, $10
K-Byte 256 meg DDR, $40
WD 120 gig SE, $169.99
Fellowes Cloth, $3

Total: $252.99 - $50 = $202.99 + tax - 153.00 MIR = $49.99 + tax

Just spoke with Jan at 1-888-244-7578 (easierrebates.com) and said that 761133839355 is valid and that it should be on the website (which it is not.) She said she would "verify" which hopefully means getting the number listed on the site. I'll give it another few days because I'd hate to send in something that wasn't listed in writing as valid.

RAM in question

EDIT: WOW THAT WAS FAST!! It's on the site now.
Valid UPC(s): 7 61133 82848 9
7 61133 83935 5

How about a three-pack of USB 2.0 6.5' cables at www.samsclub.com for $9.83?

Item 733503

If you don't have a membership, I can buy them and send you one for $10 (I have to renew my membership to buy them).
