I was at Office Max last night and saw their rebate book for June. It had a $50 WD and $20 OM rebate for the WD 120GB harddrive for 6/22. Any idea what the price prior to rebates will be?

Yeah, $99.99 after both rebates. Not worth it IMo.

Nah... The deal still sucks considering Staples has the 160gig HDD w/ PCI ATA/133 controller card for $99.99 AR right now. Factor in a $30cpn and it's $69.99. That's a GOOD DEAL.

Word. Unless its arround $.50 per GB its not really hot.

Not to harsh you diggler, but I don't think there are any really amazing hot deals in this post. The best are probabbly the 2fer1 sharpies and Cd wallet, and the instantly free buisness card maker. Well I guess I caould use some FAR DDR Thx digg.

I purchased the (Connexant) BestData PCI v.92 modem last time they had it for $10 (with $10 rebate, but never sent it in). It works pretty well, especially the v.92 features (with a compatible service - NetZero and Juno both support v.92). The downside, it does take some CPU time, the box suggests a P-II 266 minimum (I assume therefore that the drivers require MMX CPU features). It seemed to take roughly 35-50% of the CPU time on a K6-2 366Mhz system with 256MB SDRAM running on a 66Mhz FSB. Never had any other issues with it, no incompatibilities or crashes or anything.

Have no idea about the PCTel model, but I'd sooner avoid it. Anything PCTel makes is utterly low-end, and usually has issues. Rockwell/Connexant is a bit better, with Lucent or Intel the best.

Shame USR won't release a v.92 update for my external Courier v.Everything.

ok, i think i'll return the hival i got this week and get the best data. it's just for outgoing occasional faxes on a 2.5 ghz Barton rig with 512 MB DDR. I'm not really worried about CPU usage, but crashes and creating havoc in a smooth running system

After I get a $100 credit from an online exchange that I did and haven't received the credit from yet (it's been over a month), I'm done with Officemax unless they have an absolutely killer deal. No more of this $5 FAR rebate garbage either. I'm so burned out on Officemax rebates too with all the misprints and misdirected forms.

Sorry for crapping. I've just had my share and know when to say when.

say what you will, but those cheap far items are making me a little extra cash(and I get free stuff at the same time). combine stuff you want and/or can sell on egay, add far stuff to get the total up add on-line coupon viola lots o' stuff cheap, I got most of the far stuff last time and after the coupon +tax +stamps&envelopes I'll have made $15 without selling anything.(just gotta wait on all thos mir's to return. I'm stocked up on cd-r's, 10/100nics, and modems, the retractable phone cord is nice for my laptop, and you can never have to many spare phones or surge protectors

If you're having OMAX REBATE ISSUES, in canydavid's OMAX FAQ THREAD I recently posted a message containing OMAX REBATE RESOLUTION INFO. The post also lists the contact info of the entire OMAX Executive Team. That info should get you whatever resolution you're seeking.
