Microsoft is sponsoring a game called Terrarium. here You basically program in .net, around their terrarium guidelines, a herbivore/carnivore/plant thingmabob and it competes against other people's ones across the net in a peer to peer framework. The winners get xboxs, but who really cares about that. You create and program AI (i guess, still reading) so that your beast(s) can rise above the rest. There is a bunch of stats and various other stuff. I haven't downloaded it yet but would guess that even a low-end programmer could jump into this - of course they wouldn't win but so what.
You can play within set peer groups. We could have an AT group, for instance, but I doubt there are enough of us here who would play that it would be worth it having a king of the hill of AT programmers, but it would be wicked for bragging rights
