OMFG what is wrong with ICQ?

Everytime I load up ICQ now guess what happens? The ICQ servers send me back an ENTIRE history of ALL of my ICQ chats in the past couple of months. FOr instance: From one guy 598 messages, 105 from another. Other than clicking through them all how can I stop this? One would assume that once the server had sent these these were all on my machine so I could uninstall ICQ. Nope! i did that and it worked the first time but I just rebooted and find myself back with more messages. Is this finally the time in my life to stop using ICQ forever? I've been using it for about 5 years but this is just ridiculous.

No. I've tried the program but it trims functionality on all of my IMs (I also use yahoo and MSN), so I had to stop using it.

Somebody just PMed me to log into the ICQ web version to purge the history. Yaye!!

My history shows up in WingDings on certain users.

UPDATE: I have used the online version of ICQ several times without problem now but everytime i load up icq i still get a FULL farkin history from everyone I've spoken too lately. I'm nearly about to quit on ICQ forever.

EDIT: I fixed it - More functions > delete all incoming events. POS icq POS

this happens to me because i refuse to use newer versions of icq. So now when i start getting tons of old messages i just open up trillian and receive the messages. then when i go back to icq i dont get the ld messages again

Weird, i'm using a brand new fresh install of ICQ, and I've tried uninstalling and installing again and i still get it...

I don't get any history messages, but ICQ has turned into one huge spam-fest. I get at least 10 an hour, and it's annoying as hell.

I only use MSN, I like the XP client.
