I think they're contesting the "upgrade" terminology. There's nothing superior about one-way highly compressed wireless microwave transmissions. Cable has greater bandwidth and, thus, greater capability.

If it said "get DirecTV" instead of "upgrade to DirecTV," they'd wouldn't have anything to argue.

I've never had DirecTV go out. Ever. I had cable go out all the time.

The ways Comcast sucks worse than anything:

1. Customer service is comically bad. Almost seems intentional.
2. Equipment sucks.
3. Far more outages.

Sounds like anything other than them is an upgrade.

The BBB has no real power over these companies. The BBB has also been shown to be a sham. Comcast complaining to them shows how little standing their complaint has. If it had any legal grounds they would had sued them.

I'd never heard of them until yesterday. It's a good thing not to have either cable or directv. It was in the news (streamed, of course) after some co. complained they were misleading for saying Directv is more reliable than cable. News ppl said they were very effective and dtv subscriptions were up.

My DTV will go out a couple times a month during spring/summer because of a storm. If there was a way to watch the Broncos on my TV without having DTV I'd drop them in a heartbeat.

As I understand it, DirecTV / Dish Network / etc use dynamic bit rates. Most channels are so highly compressed that it's a stretch to call it "HD." The highly-rated shows and events with the most viewers get a bigger slice of the bandwidth pie, so you usually don't end up watching the worst channels...but many channels are counted as "HD" just because they *can* be whenever they're playing something popular enough to have a higher bit rate allocated.

Anyway, I guess the reliability of satellite TV depends on your geographic location and climate.
