That was one of the best war movies I've ever seen in a long time. Some of those parts were sooo sick. I remember when one of the "skinnies" shot a rocket and decapitated some guys legs from his waist down and showed him like that too with one of his hands missing. If you saw this movie, post your comments here. This is on my best movie list for 2002 now.......

Edit:After you saw this movie, would you think twice of joining the military?

I'm gonna go to this badboy tomorrow matinee. It will mark two things:

1) Me seeing BHD
2) me going to my first movie ever alone!

Don't ever go to a movie alone. First, you can't talk about it right after seeing it. Second, some people will think you can't get a date!

I thought it was alright, but the thing that bothered me the most... *PARTIAL SPOILER*

...was the fact that militia troops were on the rooftops unloading massive amounts of gunfire on humvees passing through, and it seemed that the top gunner was NEVER getting hit. That part toward the end where they took over the mobile rocket launchers and lit up the roof for the straffing run was very very sweet

What are you talking about never getting hit. Did you not see that whenever the showed the passenger and the back of the humvee that a guy would fall down from the gunning seat and a new guy would take his place. All those guys that you saw wounded in a humvee were from taking that gunners position. They haden't gotten to the wounded yet.

I really really enjoyed this movie. Excellent portrail of what happend. Yes it is very graphic at times but Ridey Scott didn't let hollywood take over him and he made it as real as possible. GREAT GREAT FLIC

I'm definitely going to see this flick...but do you think it's so good just because of the blood and gore and the realistic depiction of war? Or because it's actually a good movie a la Saving Private Ryan?

I'm so desensitized that none of this will be a shock to me, I'm just hoping it's a good movie on its own merits minus the gore.

i will be seeing this on tuesday hopefully. unfortunately, i might have to go by myself. my whole reason for going on tuesday is because i get out of work at 12:30, which means that i can catch an early show, which means that the theatres will be fairly empty. but of course, the downside is that it's hard to find people to go with.

i didn't think it was that great, the character development was crappy and had every cliche imaginable. action was great though

Alright, never is a strong word, but you have to admit there were lots of moments when there were a lot of point blank shots that missed.

<< decapitated some guys legs from his waist down >>

Decapitation, broken down, means removal of head from body. I think you're looking for "amputated" as a decent word here.

Now read the book and compare the little details of the movie that are incorrect. The book is a good read, but nothing prolly tells a story like a video of a 60 popping skinnies on khat.

"amputated" is not even the correct word, as amputation is a surgical act. How about just saying his lower body was blown away.

Yes this is a great movie and sends a powerful message to those who watch it.
To bad it has taken so long to get it into film.
I only wish that they would have told more of the truth in the movie.
