Stupid is when you receive a new version of PC-Check, make a .dat file to run certain tests for certain lengths of time, and mistakenly copy the old .dat file to the new disk, which then runs "Destructive Write Test" on all available hard disks.
Then you'd need to go and run that on a colleagues machine (who, by the way, got promoted to Technical Manager a few days later) while he's on holiday, and watch it vape half his hard disk.
And finally, remember that we don't use roaming profiles.

Now that's stupid.

Oh, and the time I plugged a faulty Cat-5 cable into the gigabit switch in the server room, and knocked the network out completely. Still scratching my head on that one- the switch just turned itself off

Oh believe me I was running around upstairs in the server room like a chicken with it's head cut off. That is, after I regained feeling in my face while staring blankly at the monitor. I went back to my desk and sat there going "Well... good thing I never liked life anyway, since my boss is going to kill me anyway."
