Mine went up 40% this year, got a nice letter from corp saying it was because of the affordable care act. Thanks obummer!

Man, I got that letter when it went up 20% last year. This year it's up "only" 11%. The past four years' worth of increased pretty much nixed a year's worth of raise. Switching to HSA plan.

Mine went up in the double digit too. No claim, no sickness, nothing since I have been with them. Just being 1 year older.

Of course their is a reason. Insurance profit greed

The letters that came along with the increases stated it was because of changes brought upon by the ACA. I fucking hate our health care industry and rules and regulations and everything. It's fucking retarded, oh how I wish we had a freer system top to bottom. It'd be cheaper and we wouldn't have to put up with all this bullshit.

Well of course they are going to say that. They cant just come out and say "Hey we want more money so we are raising your rates" Easier to have a scape goat like ACA to pin it on

But i agree our system has to be the worst in the whole entire world. I bet Somalia even has a better one

1) Premiums went up ~12%(last year was ~11%).
2) Co-pays went up ~20% (last year ~25%).
3) Also, this year they added an extra fee for your spouse. If your spouse works tack on an additional $70 per month to the Family plan which already costs 4 times the individual plan.

Got an e-mail from HR for the last 2 years that all cost increases were a result of changes mandated under PPACA (Obamacare) ... so much for the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act actually making it more affordable.

So long as health insurance is tied to employment, companies can raise rates as much as they want for whatever reason they care to invent and employees have no choice but to eat it.

Actually, company healthcare is still a SHITLOAD better than any individual plan.

I bet their quality of work and what not sucks, but I bet their system is cheaper and more efficient as it allows for true competition. Of course rich westerners aren't going there to try and make their fortunes they can make more here due to exploitation of us consumers.

Health care premiums aren't the fault of Obamacare. The problem is that Obamacare didn't go NEARLY far enough. We are on the same path we were prior to Obamacare. The issue is we STILL haven't done shit to change the path we are on. Private healthcare is racking us over the coals and will keep doing so since they can.

Technically mine went up, but if you take a free "wellness" test, you end up with an 18% reduction. The results of the wellness test in no way affect your premium. So the net affect is that I saw a reduction of 18% this year.

Obamacare is a favorite excuse for employers that are essentially shifting more of the cost to employees (they have been doing that for years by the way). Sure, Obamacare made costs rise a bit, mostly due to mandated benefits such as 100% preventive coverage, guaranteed coverage up to age 26 for children, etc, but remember that you (or your colleagues) are getting the benefits in return. However, if you have a 40% premium increase for 2013 I can guarantee you that most of it is really not due to Obamacare.

The major provisions really don't come into play until 2014 anyway - so I would hold your complaints against Obamacare until next year!

Thought the HSA was left alone ($6250/year). The FSA was not. I'm praying the HSA was left alone. $428/mo 10K deductible plan.

The HSA limit for 2013 is $3250 for individuals and $6450 for family. Plus another $1000 if your over 55.

Yay for health savings accounts.
I use a high deductible plan and an HSA. Rates went up 10% this year. As long as we insist on maintaining the employer-based private health insurance scheme we're going to continue to get hosed.

I don't even know what mine is. It's so low since health care is essentially free.

Went up 12% again (monthly premiums)
Deductable went up $1500.

Employer said they might drop health insurance all together SOON.

Mind you, I'm already paying over $400 a month for ONLY me and my wife (kids are on state).
