With all these components getting hotter, it wont be long before immersion cooling is mainstream. You cant cool that many components with water-cooling, too much piping... too messy. Cant use vapo-chill, not enough tubing to cover anything but the CPU. That leaves immersion cooling

The next billionaire is gonna be whoever invents a means to make ultra-cool electronic components (no matter how many transistors). I did read an article about using micro-springs instead of a socket. CPUs ran cooler..

That is definitely far and away the largest HSF I have ever seen on a mainstream graphics card, there goes the first PCI slot as well... must be one hell of a hot running chip.
I can only pray this is not representative of the final release samples.

I dont have a link offhand, but I know you can buy memory heatsinks with fans mounted on top of them.

I don't know... that VIA C3 Processor runs pretty darned cool.... at almost 1GHz! No fans required.
Yes we know the floating point is a little weak on games, but it's tops for silent workstations!

Memory chips are inherently capacitive devices, and don't produce much heat, so I don't think we'll be seeing fans on them anytime soon. Heatsinks aren't even needed, they're only there for the whiz-bang-looks-cool purpose, and don't really do that much.

Guys .. whats the big ideea complaining about the HSF? ... like Czar said, in 1 year it might be normal to those HSFs on sound boards and maybe needing a true 1 square meter cooler on the chasis leik this guy here: http://www.bench-house.com/news/archive/March/0103/overclocker_of_the_year.jpg

I dont get the picture why would i mind if i had a parhelia with a HSF double as that if i have the needed space.
My pc is already sounding like a true Boeing taking off so hell i would use the parhelia with any HSF.

That HSF is very bad indeed, no way would I buy a card like that, especially with Nvidia and ATI providing much better HSF, that's just dreadful.
