Holy crap... good story man.. who cares if it's a hoax? Of course it's not true, but that in no way diminished my enjoyment in reading it.

Great read. I like this kind of horror, especially going into it thinking it's true (which is what I did with the Blair Witch Project; enjoyed it immensely but had to find out it wasn't real before I could sleep again )

Is this something you wrote galt? And you're looking for reactions/criticisms? hehe

found this...seems our journal version of this tale is based on a lot of local legend, or maybe even ripped completely. The timing listed in the site also matches the story. Not to mention a website visitor by the name of "Ted Roberts" (the last page of our story ends his letter signed Ted) submitted directions to the secret location of a cave i think sounds all too similar.

Major hoax and waste of time. I love how the pictures of the hieroglyphics just happened to not turn out and he so conveniently forgot to grab his camera. No more pictures after his first little trip down.

I wouldn't call it a waste of time. I loved the story, and the style it was composed in. I wouldn't really call it a hoax either, in that hoaxes need to be believable The fact that the missing last page elicited an emotional response is testament to the success of the writing style.
