<< Manly:
I love to pick free nits. I wouldn't buy anything at CC, if it only had a GC. I bought there once and too many teeth to pull to get both rebates. The 800 GC shipped and will prevent $50 in credit card subtraction. That's future money not out of my pocket.

Than subtract $35 rebate, $60 MSN rebate, whatever Blue's PM is...I'm sending this $323 camera and memory back for a refund...which I didn't get yet either.
>>

Cool. I guess I was mistaken because my GC says scheduled to ship 1/1/2001 which now that I re-checked, doesn't make any sense.

I'm unclear what your last comment about refund means.

I'm unclear what your last comment about refund means.

In reference to: It's like those misleading deal titles that say 60 GB for $75 shipped when it's more like $150 shipped and $75 MIR. )

I got another $20 in MSN funny money for the Monster charger, reader/writer and extra Monster batteries.

Didn't they e-mail you last night that they mailed out the $50 GC?

So I finally got off my ass and got in on this deal....it's changed a bit. Went thru Passport, got the Finepix 2600 (which has gone up in price from 282 to 299) and a 128M smartmedia (the 64 appears to be gone, sold out whatever; and I want the 128M for my MP3 player, and the camera can have the 32meg that's already in my Nomad). The accessory kit is back but shipping later, and there's free shipping on all electronics. Also saw a previous posters link to a $20 MIR for 128+ Meg Sandisk SMs at 800.com. So it looks like this-

$299 Finepix2600
$74.92 128M Sandisk Smartmedia
-7.49 Sandisk on sale
-7.95 Free Shipping
-60.00 from MSN Passport
-35.00 MIR from Fuji for Camera+Smartmedia
-20.00 MIR for 128M Sandisk Smartmedia@800.com
-50.00 800.com Giftcert, for whatever
-----
$193 total for a Fuji Finepix2600, 128M smartmedia and accessory kit. Great deal. Thanx for the headsup.
The 2 MIRs don't ask for the same original UPCs so that's no worries.

I'd appreciate the research and deal engineering here e but I really don't want so much $ held up in Rebates . Any deals on it not quite so hot that don't require rebates (I could live with MIR or Staples maybe). I wonder if the Kodak DC5000 at Compgeeks is better for me since because of the rebate situation) ?

Still waiting for mine. Few things:

1) I think the sale price of this camera was $284.95 ($15.00 off due to the sale). The other discount amount, if you saw one, was for your media, if you purchased some.

2) 800.com added the accessory kit to my order, even though it wasn't available when I placed my order. This is good.

3) Has anyone got a confirm on their price match with Amex?

I got my Fuji 2600 yesterday...charged up the batteries until the red light went out, took 15 pictures last night (I used the LCD). This morning I connected the camera to the Mac to transfer my pictures, and the batteries are completely DEAD. 15 pictures on a full charge of 1700mah NiMH batteries is horrible...I got 150+ pictures out of the Olympus C-700 with a set of ordinary batteries.

The $35 Sandisk rebate is stapled on the back of the camera receipt-I thought they had forgotten it. Nice deal...if I can figure out how to use it. Most of the stuff arrived already and almost dropped the little camera. :-(

I should hear from Blue any day now, since I filed by phone & fax 11/21.

Justincase:

My camera works fine, no problem with the batteries took a couple pictures and evne played with the PC Cam mode. No low battery indicator yet. One thing I found with the batteries though was that after the light went out, it had only been about 1.5 hours on the initial charge whereas the manual says to do it for 5 hours. So, I pulled it out of the socket and plugged it back in and it started charging again. You might want to try that, not sure why it does that though. Anyways, I love this camera, nice and compact, had to get updated drivers from their site, couldn't find PC Cam drivers for XP though so I just said screw MS and installed the old ones anyway, hope my computer doesn't crash . Got the Gift Check even before I got my camera, so eyeing a SM reader now...

Thanks. I recharged them again today, and the charger light remained on for a few hours...should be good for more pictures this time.

I am not keeping this camera though - I just compared the pictures produced by the Fuji 2600 to nearly-identical pictures that I have taken with the Sony FD-95, Olympus C-700 and Nikon 775...the 2600 pictures are not nearly as good as the same photos taken by any of the other 3 cameras. I was hopeful, but I am not impressed by this camera. Oh well, hopefully those Minolta Dimage 7s that I ordered will be better...if PhotoAlley ever ships them (been 2 weeks already).

Have been using mine for about 2 weeks now. Love it. Battery live is excellent. Video is excellent when viewed on your PC. And as a PC Cam it is MUCH better than the Intel Easy PC Cam I was using. Going to start testing it at night. Taking some pics of Christmas lights in the neighborhood.

Don't forget this weekend Staples is having the SM reader free with purchase of SM. Remember the rebate is for " up to $35". I was almost going to buy the 32m for $30, but then I only get a $30 rebate. So buying the 64m is a better deal. Get the full $35 rebate, so it's only $15 out of pocket for 32m more and the reader. Gooooooooooooood Deal.

Jimmyboy -

You bought the camera at Staples then I hope? Cuz the rebate says the camera and memory have to be purchased from the same retailer. Just wanted to give you the heads up.

If not I think Ill buy something for the car,or put it toward a DVD player.......that Ill probably never use?I can set it on top of that $350 VCR I bought four years ago and have used less than a dozen times.Hey but its Hi-FI Stereo

I know this is not supposed to work, but I just got $9.62 deposited into my ebates account from this deal. Go figure. So, if my Blue PM comes through, I'll be into this thing for about $145, not including the Gift Card. Not bad for a digital camera, 64MB smartmedia, the accessory kit and $50 to spend at 800.com. This forum is great.

I got everything in now! the digi-cam, smartmedia, accessory kit, and the gift check.. just gotta send in for the smartmedia rebate.

The accessory kit comes with a leather(?) case, set of 4 AA NiMH's and charger, tripod, and a cleaning cloth. If you guys want, I'll take pics of those and link em.

It kinda sucked that everything came in separately... people at my house kept wondering what I'm ordering every day...

The camera includes 2 batteries plus charger, and the accessory kit includes 4 batteries and another charger. You probably won't be wanting for batteries or chargers...

Got lucky, for some reason they sent me 2 accessory kits. Receipt says 1, but 2 fit perfectly in the shipping box - guess they were saving on box filler

Now for the Blue PM. Crossing my fingers...

I got in on this deal but when I went to place my order, they were out of the 64 MB Sandisk smart media cards so I ordered the 64 MB Memorex. Had anyone used these in the past and if so, what was your experience? Thanks
