Last week the online guy at 800.com, said the kit didn't have an extra charger and 4 more batteries(as stated), so I ordered 2-4packs of 1800mAh and a Monster charger w/4 batteries. They still had the electronics discount and free shipping...and another -$20 from MSN, so I'll be well charged. 18 batteries and 3 chargers.

The Sandisk reader/writer is much better than off-loading from the camera. It shows up as a removable drive, for copying to and from. Plays mp3s and opens jpgs in PhotoShop.

That's not true.. I'm looking at the rebate coupon and it says "Buy a FinePix 2600 Zoom and any brand or size SmartMedia Card, or have digital prints made from any photofinisher, and receive the price paid up to $35 by mail in rebate."

most definately bought the camera from Staples. This weekend will get the 64m with reader at Staples also. I am so careful about rebates. I don't want to give them any chance to deny me. I double and triple check everything. ........With a magnifying glass. The print on some rebate forms is so minute that I even have to use eyeglasses and a magnifying glass. They are so sneaky. And I am so determined

Remember to read the terms of the rebate. AS I read you have to register your camera to get the rebate.
Also what are you going to get with the 50.00 gift check? Any ideas with rebates or something returnable to walmart or kmart? I would like to get as much back from this $50 as possible.

Murse - were you able to combine the Ebates rebate along with the MSN Promotion? I was wondering if that was possible, but I read somewhere that it wasn't.

Yes, somehow ebates seemed to work. I linked to 800.com from the MSN site and put the stuff in my cart. I then linked to 800.com from ebates and checked out using Passport. I was worried about Passport going through, but I got an e-mail the next day. I also looked at the ebates FAQ and it specifically says that ebates will NOT work with Passport. So, I figured, since I got the Passport money, no big deal on ebates. Then, yesterday, I checked my ebates account and there was a credit for the 800.com purchase. So, it worked, even though they said it wouldn't.

I got a personal CD player by Panasonic,it was $49.95 so I am out $.05.They dont give you change on the gift checks,so if you buy something less than $50,you wont get credit for the remainder of the GC.
I also got free shipping. Oh and I went through MSN and used Passport to get the CD player,then clicked that I had a GC,so I got a $50 purchase toward my MSN rewards program.With the SanDisk reader I bought the other day that should put me over the top for another $20 from MSN rerwards!

I gave up on trying to find a Heineken coupon, and just went ahead and spent my GC on THIS.

It's a Memorex Smartmedia and Compactflash reader for 36.00. I needed something to hook up all my different cards and it's a pretty good price.

I also threw in a CD and checked out with Passport. Although I'm not sure if GC's count towards the total or if it's just the remainder I put on my CC.

I got my camera 2 days ago.
The camera is cool but either the batteries suck or the camera uses a lot of battery power. I read the manual and on page 76 of the manual it says that, If you leave the batteries in the camera, the
camera uses the battery in the off mode also. I read that today!

Also regarding the 35$ rebate, the rebate criteria 4 says to send in the original MIR form, original FinePix box UPC and a photocopy of the original sales receipts from the camera and the battery charger kit? .:disgust: What is this battery charger receipt! Any idea?

Nowhere have they mentioned to send anything related to the smart media purchase?

Did anyone mail in the rebate as of today? What exactly did you send in?

One more weird thing on the rebate form is that there is no number or website or email to verify if we don't receive the rebate after 8 weeks. That's means just pray that we get the 35$ back!

if you read the last line of number 4 on the rebate form, it also says that it must be post-marked by Feb. 28, 2k1 to receive the rebate. either fuji's got a bunch of idiots working for them, or they just want to screw everyone out of their rebates.

Another thought for those that picked up a 128MB SanDisk SmartMedia card... Amex Blue PM it to the lowest vendor on pricegrabber (or pricewatch for that matter). 800.com price was 67.49 after "SanDisk savings", which is still enough over the low price of $52.99 to eek out a couple bucks more ($14.50 to be precise). I haven't tried to PM anything yet since getting my Blue card (I'll try to cipher out that process once my camera and accessories arrive), but since it's over $10, it appears to meet their expectations for PM-ability.
