Just pricematched my purchase from December this morning with Insight.com (TC's parent). The turn around time for claims is now 4 weeks due to the holiday increase in claims.

I placed an order with TC Computers on Saturday, but they said they won't be getting any in until Dec. 31 (Which would be too late for the rebate) So FYI, if they check the stock TC doesn't have any. If anyone knows any different, let me know.

All of the stores that are listing the 3635 at the sub $300 price in the various online pricing search engines that I called are either already taking into account the Compaq $150 MIR in their posted web price or are not taking orders until after 1/31/2002 when Compaq drops the SRP on the 3635 to $299.99 and the Compaq $150 MIR is no longer valid.

Your best bet if you want a sub $200 iPAQ 3635 at this point is to PM at a local store with one of the above.

Godd Luck! I called them again this morning and said that the price is not vaid until after 1/31/2002 despite what the web site states or allows. They are well aware of the Compaq $150 rebate and are not selling or shipping any product until the rebate expires and Compaq officially drops the SRP price to $299.99 on 2/1/2002. Your invoice will show a urchase date = shp date. That is why it says clearly "Ordered Upon Request" . I would recommend that you call them @ 1-800-723-9501 and confirm your ship date and price. TC computers has a 15% restock fee on all non-defective merchandise + you pay return S&H

BTW- The Compaq $150 3635 rebate is valid for all purchases from authorizd resellers. It is not valid for purchases from individuals or online auctions.

Just got off the phone with the CSR from TC and they have 66 on backorder and an expected arrival date to THEM of 1/31/02. I was one of the first to order last Saturday and the CSR said that things usually arrive LATER than the expected arrival date, which would not qualify for the rebate. It still is not a bad price for this model, but just not as good of a deal with the rebate. I think I am going to hang tight on my order to see if it ships before the 26th. (crossing fingers)

That's Good. I would cancel if your unit does not ship by then. Compaq with offer a new rebate for the 3635 starting 2/1/2002, but it is $50 instead of $150.
