After watching Maddow, I don't think there's anything to this Bharara thing. She tries to advance the theory that this request for investigation was the reason for the termination. But 42 others were terminated at the same time, and probably because Sean Hannity suggested it on FoxNews. We know how Trump operates and where his ideas come from. Moreover, Maddow's own guest, a reporter for the New York Times, offers a more plausible theory based on known facts. When Trump made the promise to Bharara, it was back in November when Trump was having a short term bromance with Chuck Schuemer, since Schuemer was saying publicly that he wanted to work with Trump on some things. Bharara is a friend of Schuemer, and Trump made the promise to both Bharara and Schuemer. It was essentially an implicit bribe to Schuemer, or call it a peace offering if you prefer. Fast forward to today, Trump's relationship with Schuemer has gone toxic, and he's no longer interested in keeping his end of the deal. Sounds like the best available theory. And it's not very incriminating to Trump.

Maddow has done excellent work on many issues, but I think she overreaches about 25% of the time, and this is one of those times.

I didn't say that I didn't want the truth. Wanting the truth doesn't mean convicting someone on absolutely zero evidence. As I said in my post " Either he is good at hiding the evidence or there is nothing to see". So far there has been nothing to see.

No one is convicting anyone. Trump does not seem very good at hiding the evidence considering he has been in office seven weeks and already faces a potential existential threat to his presidency, haha.

A phone call from Flynn with no substance is not proof of anything.

The national security advisor lying to the Vice President and the FBI, which is a crime, is certainly evidence that indicates something bad.

Sessions meeting with an ambassador is also nothing. All Congressmen and Senators do this. He recused himself to satisfy the Dems raving.

He recused himself because he probably committed perjury, which is a felony.

You're now hand waving away multiple things people can be sent to prison for.

So, nearly 5 months after TBaggers and GOPers successfully made Hillary completely irrelevant in public and political life (I mean, grats to them--their one enemy over the last 25 years, suddenly neutralized. If you have a goal, for whatever reason, it's nice to finally get there, right?), they still think she is relevant. Hiding under their beds, the perfect foil to absorb the blame for everything they, themselves, have done, via Trump.

Aaand, there's nothing to see.

Dead End: Senate Intelligence Dems Admit There May Be ZERO Evidence Of Collusion Between Russians And Trump Campaign

I'm under no illusion that this will result in the hair on fire crowd giving up. The red under your bed crowd will not accept reality.

This isn't about Russia, it is about the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution. That was clearly stated in the OP. I tend to agree that the Russian angle is a dead horse but for fucks sake, Trump's actions regarding Emoluments are CLEARLY suspect.

Well obviously he must be since you claim the Russian ties are true and they have not found anything. Ha Ha.

That is an entirely different topic. I agree Flynn should have been fired. He has been exposed as a turd.

I do not think Sessions is guilty of perjury. I think he answered poorly, but not criminal by any stretch.

I like this new republican speak. lies = alternative facts. perjury isn't perjury if it can be called "answered poorly."

It's so obviously bullshit, and the humor lies in watching conservatives attempt to shovel this shit out of their mouths with straight faces.

Call it On the Job Training for Trump surrogates and supporters. By Trump's second year in office the cover-up's for Trump's all too frequent fuck-up's and lies are going to be so slick, so polished and so unbelievably believable that Trump will be able to say and tweet any frick'in thing he wants and we'll all be nodding our numbed out heads in agreement with him..........................not.

I'm actually wondering if all of those walk-backs, excuses and re-hashed "what he actually meant to say was_______" re-directs are accepted as the gosh darn truths by his supporters. I mean, Trump has brought new meaning to the term "stretching the truth" where there is no limit to how far "stretch" can actually be stretched. Well, I suppose it's all good as far as his supporters are concerned.

I guess I can look at it like the lies the Democrats tell and they say " I miss spoke". Right.

https://www.propublica.org/article/preet-bharara-fired-investigating-tom-price-hhs-stock-trading

Tom Price, head of the Department of Health and Human Services, came under scrutiny during his confirmation hearings for investments he made while serving in Congress. The Georgia lawmaker traded hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of shares in health-related companies, even as he voted on and sponsored legislation affecting the industry.

Price testified at the time that his trades were lawful and transparent. Democrats accused him of potentially using his office to enrich himself. One lawmaker called for an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, citing concerns Price could have violated the STOCK Act, a 2012 law signed by President Obama that clarified that members of Congress cannot use nonpublic information for profit and requires them to promptly disclose their trades.

The investigation of Price’s trades by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, which hasn’t been previously disclosed, was underway at the time of Bharara’s dismissal, said the person.

Cue deflections to Hillary.
