I am starting a "NO Case" PC project, and am in need of an on/off button. Any suggestions on where I can go to find one? I am building my PC directly into a desk drawer, and when completed, I will post pics.

Unless you really want to have a switch, you can just "jumpstart" it with a screwdriver.

Just short out the connection the power button is supposed to make.

You can also use a jumper to close the circuit for a second.

Do you plan on soldering for this? If so, just go to Radio Shack...

Rather have a switch, but thanks for the suggestion. I guess if I REALLY need an on/off button, I could buy a cheap case from ebay, and part it out to myself!

The guys in the Distributed Computing area must have some sources of cheap switches if you want to check over there.

A simple on off switch from any hardware store will do, and this diagram will help you with the wiring.

Uhhh... that's if you want to turn on a PSU without a motherboard.

If you have a whole computer, you just need a switch connected to the two pins on the motherboard that the power button for the case would usually attach to.

Oh, and you want one that makes a momentary connection, not one that stays on one flipped.

Hi, You got some pretty good advice already. Any momentary N.O. push button will work. A RESET SWITCH off of any OLD computer case will also work. Luck, Jim

Check out allelectronics.com , i love that place. They will ship USPS ground, slow but cheap.

They have some neat looking button swiches and toggels. I bought 10 DPDT mico switches
for $12 shipped. Thier heat shrink is top notch and inexpensive, sold in 4' lengths.
