I think the "hot deal ambiguity" on my end is the true value of those included accessories: the battery pack and the auto charger. They do look useful, though.

One of the great things about the iPod is the ability to play uncompressed audio. I have mine conncected to my car in place of a CD changer. I can store more music than a 12 disc changer (uncompressed) and take it with me. I was about to get a CD changer until I figured out this made so much more sense for just a little more.

The Belkin car kit is a must have if you want to play it in your car. That a $5 cable from Radio Shack and a $20 adapter for your head unit and you have a tiny portable CD changer.

This deal is quite good for anyone who wants an iPod.

if it was the 2nd gen iPod, i wouldn't be so quick to recommend it. i think that the 3rd gen iPods are really nice. Smaller and on-the-fly-playlists. makes it almost perfect, IMO.

BUT....if you have more than 15GB of music you'd probably be better off with the Zen.

I have a 1st gen 20GB Zen and i like it. the controls are a little small, but for $250 at the time, it was a much better value than the iPods.

i dunno. i'm not really recommending one over the other. just MO

when i had my Zen, i was comforted by the fact that it was a better value than the iPod. Now with the new tiny iPod size and more competitive prices....i admit it, i have iPod envy

Lol, well iamme, I switched. I was able to flip my zen on ebay for considerably more than I paid, so I'll just take that and mail it out to the new owner on tuesday when it arrives.

I just put my order in for the 15gb ipod on dell before the 10% coupon expired. It's showing 1-2 weeks delivery, though. I hope it comes through as the 15gb is now discontinued.

I just wish they could handle OGG files. That is something that Apple needs to put in for the v4 iPods, or add in with new firmware.
