There's one thing that really baffles me. I see a video card for like $200 and I don't think it's that bad of a deal and a decent upgrade. But I can get an Xbox or PS2 with a huge library of games for $199 and I keep waiting for them to drop in price. Tony Hawk 4, Soul Caliber 2, Metroid Prime, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid 2, Halo, Super Mario Sunshine, Virtua Fighter 4, the new Zelda, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, The Two Towers, Shenmue II, Steel Batallion, Dead or Alive 3, etc. There's a ton of great stuff out there for the consoles and only the consoles. At $199 for an Xbox or PS2 and a meager $150 for a Gamecube, they're a steal.
That being said, you know I'm going to be dropping some serious cash for a new video card when Doom 3 comes out.
Oh, and I'd get a Gamecube. It's a $150 and by the time you get tired of Tony Hawk 4, Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine, Soul Caliber 2, Resident Evil, the upcoming Two Towers and all the other cool games, the other 2 systems will probably have dropped $50 each so you can pick those up for less if you feel the need.
