Fun thread. If you get a year or two out of these. Most of my tablets are crap anyway after this time period regardless of mfgr.

Would be killer to have a Mini Steam gaming system tho.

Can you use a mouse and keyboard at the same time with these on Windows?

I know you can use a bluetooth set up, I was thinking a mini usb, to full size usb, then a 4 port usb adapter to use a usb keyboard/mouse, but?

Im am thinking, mild steam/android gaming tablet is the use I'm going to use it for...

Got my wife a Cherry brand tablet.

I was reading the reviews of these chinese tablets, and someone said, that they installed a windows app that had a virus on it, and they had to do a factory reset...

Then they claimed that the tablet ran even faster...

That was our experience as well. Wife put something an app on it I think a pdf app and it kept crashing... So we did a factory reset.

If you buy one of these chinese tablets, you should know that the software that gets preloaded from china isn't all that clean and could include some hidden bloatware or even malware.

Anyway, I suggest you do a factory reset when you get and do a clean install of windows or android.

These are great tablets for the price and hold up well, even tho, the battery in them are kinda disappointing, but they have to cut corners somewhere. Hopefully, they can solve the battery issues and we can get even better tablet and phones later down the road. To be honest, I'd spend 20-30 bucks more for the tablet that had a quality battery like the apple products do.

OK just as a heads up to everyone. I did a LOT of youtube watching, review reading, on may sites, and on the cherry tablets there is a ton of people complaining of tablets locking up, infinite boot, batteries lasting only 2 hours, sometimes 4 hours, getting so hot you cant even hold them. Some there is no problems at all, but it wasnt worth my $240 gamble to get from China to find out if I get a good one or not for if you want dual boot you MUST get the pro version for the plus version is only windows 10.

If windows 10 is your thing, on this is when gaming is involved, the cherry is actually a few frames slower then the trail cpu believe it or not, and the speakers on the unit are not as loud. The only thing you really get more on it is the headphone jack is updated to where it will take a head set rather just headphones. So with thinking of that, you may as well pick up the 919 air with the trail and get one that does the dual boot and take advantage of the louder speaker, faster fps, and better battery life, it makes more sense, at least to me it did, rather then just being able to say "I have the Cherry CPU in mine"

OH and when I say "PRO" its the Teclast X98 Pro unit you would have to get for Onda doesnt make one with the upper class cherry cpu that does dual boot, just the V919 Air CH with the lesser Cherry that does windows 10 only, and when its pit up against the V919 air Trail they are exactly they same in everything, all scores, so though one is powered by the trail, and the other the cherry, and one is 32bit, and the other 64, gaming on them, are the same, so no sense in spending more money, and losing the dual boot capabilities if thats what youre going after.

Anyway, thought Id give you the heads up on all this since I been spending the last several days on all this before spending my hard earned money on one of these making sure I made the right decision for me, and thought Id pass on what I learned to you all as well. I just ordered the 64 gig V919 Air.

I'm not expecting a great Windows experience with this tablet - I've already owned one with similar specs, and I know it will lag and bog down at times. Last I checked, the windows App store was still pretty crappy. I'm buying this mainly as an Android tablet, with the Windows OS being a bonus. I was looking for a cheap android tablet - my last attept was a Nook HD+ - it had great specs and was well built, but was laggy, even with a modded ROM. The Intel Atom should be able to run Android smoothly, although I'm hoping the high pixel count won't bog it down too much.

Steam streaming does the heavy lifting on your gaming pc, and streams the output so a weak computer (perhaps your htpc, or a tablet) can play more demanding games.

Yeah, when I get mine, I got to figure out how to stream from my pc, to the tablet via WiFi like in the video, that would be cool. I have a fast WiFi router, so it would be cool to be able to sit on the couch and play some pretty bad butt games on it and the fam can use the tv for the movies then when I still want to game on...

BTW mine is in NY right now, has anyone gotten theirs yet??? Would like to know what they have to say so far

well I got mine yesterday, and after doing some driver updates to it in windows, its darn awesome! I played just rayman origns so far and it looked and played great. In android so far everything went smooth as can be, and the games I have played went just fine.

I did however get a updated tablet. It does not have the touch ring, but a windows touch symbol, and it has location, and gps with maps. Oh it also didnt come with play store, but no biggie, I down loaded off google and installed it, no big deal.

But thats it, Im happy as poop right now.

Also, what I have done to increase its storage, I not only put in a 128gig stick in, but my drobo nas allows me to make bootable drives, so i made one and mounted it it this tablet as z drive, so now it also has 11 extra tb of space as well, that I routed steam to. So now in windows, I have no worries of running out of space. I love this tablet, movies and games look, and sound great for its also hooked up to my creative roar portable speaker.

I highly recommend one of these in 32 gig, or 64, you will be having fun on the cheap! But a bluetooth keyboard and mouse is a must, I have to get one, typing on this thing sucks.....only down side.

Did you order the tablet that you linked in the original post but receive something different, or did you order something different? Is the model number the same?

I ordered from the same place, but not the link, in their store to get the 64gig one instead of the 32gig one. It's still a 919v air though, gold in color, extremely nice looking, I absolutely love it. Ive had Chinese tablets in the past, but this one operates like a name brand one imo, and feels the same. Worth every penny I paid, and time I waited to get it. Again, imho.

I thought of getting that one too, but then I really had no need to put my cell phone card in it. But that is a good one still. I just played i-ninja on mine, Im slowly finding games I can play, but without a keyboard and mouse Im having trouble for the pop up one doesnt show up in games when you have to type in your name to progress further, and most my games need that. So anyone getting one, a keyboard and mouse is pretty much a must.
