One lonnngggg beeep after 8800GT install.

I am working on my second build. I am running a 4500E processor, MSI p35 Platnum, and all that booted okay and would go into standby silently. When I installed my video card it just beeps. It is one long beep. and it doesnt ever shut up.

There is no video either. HALP. Did I get a bad card?

make sure you have it connected to your psu and that your PSU has adequate amperage & pci-e connectors

Make sure the card is fully seated. Some motherboard/case/card combos make the cards seat poorly.

Last time this happened to me, it turned out that the power cable wasn't connected.

Yes, most likely the 6 pin power cable to the card isn't in.

One long beep means video error, btw.
