One of the benefit of early retirement

I noticed the other day I'm losing the gray hairs on my head, and my hair is now going back to its natural color. I thought I was doomed to premature gray hair but it turns out the gray hair was likely caused by high level of stress from work. It proves once again, work stress is killer. Take care of yourself and don't stress too much. Everything will be all right.

Interesting. I doubt that would be my case. I've had gray hair since I was 20. I'm definitely less stressed at work now, but I'm no where near retirement.

While I am constantly stressed at the threat of losing my job, I'm in mu mid-50's and have no grey at all.

Didn't realize your hair can potentially go back to color. This past year I have definitely been less stressed out with FT telework, even when having my first kid last may!

I saw it happen with really old people. Didn't know it could happen to younger person. But it can definitely happen, and I'm seeing it with my eyes. I'm in my 40s.

I did not realize that could happen, that's kind of cool. I noticed the odd white hair in my beard now myself, but I'm still mostly red. I don't really have a stressful job though but early retirement would be pretty nice.

The last 2-3 years have been rough on my facial hair more than anything. The hair on my head is still dark and vibrant and beautiful...my wife is totally jealous.

I wish all my gray hair (or even some of them) can go back in its original dark color. Gone baby gone.... <sad panda>

At least my FIRE plan is still a go. Very soon I will be free from all the shackle and chain of the office life (5 years or less).

I don't see how someone could slave away for 30-40 years at the same place. The soul and spirit would be long gone.

Retirement PLUS Just for Men mixed with Rogaine might do that for me!

Unless you've found you're suddenly sprouting new hair too?

Just a sec now .... LATE 40's is one thing....

I started seeing the first significant grey around 40 or so and was fully grey on top of my head at least by 50. However I'm now 57 and I seem to have "leveled-off" still with some color in my beard at least.

I worked with a guy many years ago who went grey-white in his 20's so it does happen. He otherwise looked his age too and was very healthy.

lol "OMG GRAY 40S"

I'm 34 and have almost as much grey as my dad, and I have white patches on my beard.

12 years in oil and gas. damn.

ladie(s) love it though. "wise" "mature" or maybe one lady just tells me that to keep me around because i'm handy and can cook.... probably that.

Your eyesight could get better from less stress as well, at least my eye doctor thinks so. My prescription went down this past year a nice chunk, from -3.0/-3.25 to -2.25 in both eyes. I'm 45. He asked me if I'd had a stress free year - I said hell no. Anyways, apparently your eyesight can improve in your forties.

My chin hair by now is over 50% gray, but my head hair is still almost all still black. I think the gray chin hair isn't a bad thing but I don't want the head hair to change anytime soon. We aren't all George Clooney.

It does seem some people go gray younger now, or even lose their hair younger. Some people lose their hair in like their 20's. I'm kind of glad to still have mine in my mid 30's. I can't speak too soon though, my dad went bald right at 40 and as scary as it seems I'm not that far from there. Less than 6 years when I think about it, that's a scary thought. Getting old. Should probably start looking at old age homes to at least get on the list.

man i can't wait to retire... still shooting for 45

i ran into a problem at the end of the day and it has been eating at me all afternoon/evening, because i know tomorrow is going to be terrible

the only way i can sleep on nights like this is to knock myself unconscious with melatonin + benadryl

otherwise i will stay awake all night, worrying nonstop
